We can't decide what to do at a roundabout, or other junction until we can see what's going on. Here's an easy method so that you always get your approach speed perfect. #DrivingLesson #Roundabouts #Junctions
I would be perfectly happy for my pupils to have that mindset as it makes sense. The usual phrase it must be rememberd was simply to try and get some understanding in novice drivers, of how an approach to a roundabout can differ from an approach to say a t- junction or crossroads, where predominantly planning to stop, preparing is usually (depending on knowledge of junction ie open or closed) the approach. Very useful video.
4:04 - 4:10 This is making a bit more sense here now with how much more time you have but it just feels like you're crawling up to the junction but I guess you aren't making the stop or go decision closer to the line. I am commenting this at this point before watching the rest. Not driven for 3 years and this is something that perhaps was my weak point after passing
5:19 not sure if your car's electric and you're relying on a quicker initial acceleration but not sure if that blue car was too far around or you're saying the black car was a blocker
Not yet. I will be doing it, but while there are still roadworks going on, the temporary signs don't match the road markings. It's on my list for when the junction is complete (if it ever does get finished!)
Hi, are you able to do a video on the coseley roundabout but going right 3RD exit to coseley road @ 4:45. This part always confuses me as when you follow it around the roundabout, the lane for coseley then moves to the left and then the hand lane which you then follow then changes to A463? If that makes sense.
It's an annoying roundabout as the road markings are actually wrong, making it half spiral and half not spiral!. Here's how to think about it...if your chosen exit is a one-lane road then you need to be in the left lane by the time you get to it. So for the direction you've asked about, the very second you pass the second exit (towards walsall) then check your mirror and get over to the left lane, and make sure you're not showing a right signal. The mistake you are making is that you are clinging to the right-hand lane for longer than you need to.
Looking at the roundabout where you needed to stop. A car appeared on your right and also stopped, this car pulled away when he had a gap, is there a reason why you didn’t pull away as well? it looked to be a big enough gap. Then another car entered the roundabout without stopping because he saw the gap, which is what you are saying so again, did you see the gap but decided to wait until you had a better view.
