Here we are 15 years later and Donald is still with us. He’s always been one of my favourite actors but until I watched this I had no idea how charming and funny he is.
Appeared in 2 episodes of the greatest tv show of them all.... Man in a suitcase 1966-67..in two different roles... also starring the fantastic Richard Bradford as ‘McGill’...
He is so great. He has made everything from big big budget movies to really cheap European movies in the past, and they all are interesting cause he is always good. My favourites are Invasion of the Body Snatchers(1978), Don´t look now(1973),Eye of the needle(1981),Ordinary people(1980) and A dry white season(1989). Kiefer has an impossible task in front of him =)
@sitedecinema : at his age and with his career, I sort of automatically assumed he at least got one or more Academy Award s(or at least a Liftetime Achievement recognition), but indeed: he never got the recognition he deserved. Proves once more that the truelly talented actors in Hollywood are always the most underrated ones.
@vickersx2 as Monty already said, yes Donald Sutherland was in MASH but in the orignal fim not the follow on TV series. You should try and catch it if you have never seen it. Its a classic movie
Donald looks just like John Holmes in that small clip of a movie they show towards the beginning. Aside from that little observation, Donald is the fucking man.
Ok thank you Valvetrom, I understand the joke now, even if I don't understand all the words he says !! Very funny... great man and permanently the greatest living actor !
When I was a little kid Donald Sutherland scared the hell out of me when he played a really bad and cruel character in a film I can't remember now, and I guess it affected me because I avoided watching him in the future. This interview made me realize how silly I've been for years and I love the man now. I guess it takes a great actor to make a big impression on you, even if this means terrify you. I'm off to watch all the films I've been missing with Donald in; he really is a solid actor.
Donald Sutherland is one hell of an actor, very smart and very talented. I always thought he'd be a good Commissioner James Gordon in the older Batman films.
I've seen him in the Hunger Games, a show called Crossing Lines, an older movie called The Dirty Dozen (personal recommendation) and Pride and Prejudice.
I love how laid back he is about Sex... For some reason guys his age usually get so annoyed when they mention that and can't stand answering a question about it, therefore has a face like a smacked arse for the rest of the interview!... He is just so classy and isn't your stereo-typical guy from that era! Which i love!!!
I realize that your comment was a long time ago, but I'm answering anyway because I'm watching his old interviews. The one thing I've noticed is that he says things very bluntly and very unexpectedly. Another thing is that he has a very dirty sense of humor. 😂 As an American, it's a bit mind-boggling, but I can see the humor in it. He told a story on Craig Ferguson that both shocked me and made me snort.
@@Lozzeii It's okay, sometimes I forget I've commented on things until someone responds. Then I'm like "Did I really say that?!" 😂 I recently started getting into Donald Sutherland's acting. Personally, I didn't realize his personality was like this, lol.
Kiefer looks just like his father. Two very talented men. Although it is creepy how Kiefer and his twin sister Rachel look alike. I know they're twins but opposite sex and they looks so alike!
