In a September 2, 1987, interview with CNN's Larry King, Donald Trump says he has no interest in being president and explains why he took out an ad ripping the George H.W. Bush administration.
@@Cooliron24 Funny telling someone else to move on yet you can't do so yourself, nor are you in the position to say so. If you can't identify if that's a joke, well then, you just be a pea brained little idiot.
sunfire65 ...MSM planted progressives into news to cause disruption so NO ONE will hear sane rational arguments. They don’t want ppl to make sane/rational political decisions...basically they want to keep us divided.
@Anthony B Exactly yeah, weren't those the good times when people could just talk and listen? Instead of constantly accusing each other.... oh shit, I just read the second half of your post... never mind!
Indeed. It makes them look terrible today by comparison. Larry was a true journalist. All we have now is operatives from the “Ministry Of Truth”, memory hole-ing history, righting new history and articles to fit the party orthodoxy, and attacking opposing views.
more like surprised they didn't take it down. this was posted 7 years ago. a few years before his presidential run. no one had issues with him before that...
Donald Trump should use his old interviews in his campaign, for people to realize that his ideas for a better America have always been there. Agree with him or not, he far outshadows most every other clown who has arrived at the presidency of the United States. How 50% of Americans can continue to support these incompetent clowns currently in office, and not Donald Trump, only shows the great failure of America's educational system, as reflected in it's people.
@@gigachad-jh1dh lmao if u think he's better i dont think your smart, trumps not that great but i do think he is helping our economy and other candidates dont really talk about helping our country and talk about impeaching trump
@@user-fg5rg5el7yconsistent? That’s why it’s very easy to find footage of Trump complimenting Hilary Clinton while he was claiming he is a democrat after this video? Dude flip flops to whoever he thinks will give him more money.
Surreal watching and listening to a young Donald Trump - back in 1987 when the media was fair and Trump was treated like a human being. He’s both politically sharp and consistent. So much respect.
CNN put this title "I don't wanna run for president" just to tell us that Trump is a hypocrite but ironically, the content of the interview shows how consistent he's been over the years
America is so lucky. This president so obviously loves America. The democrats seem to have a deep hatred for America as it is. I don't understand why. I know every country has it's faults but you need to work to male your nation great and not tear it down. I can understand disagreements with policy but why not negotiate your points rather than constant impeachment moves. Very strange.
I couldn't have said that better you should watch the interview when he's 34 talking with an old woman and he says I'll never be president but then when asked what he would do if he lost his billions he joked I'd run for president LOL
Lol he's "America First" until it comes to paying taxes. Don't get me wrong, he is smart for using our tax system to pay nothing for years on end, but it is laughable for him to cry that "homeless people and farmers need help" when the average low-income taxpayer contributes more than him.
I'm Your President The craziest thing is, he was (and still is) huge in the culture of Hollywood and media. You’re right, once he said he would run as a Republican, they stopped treating him as the fantastic cultural icon that he is. But it doesn’t really matter, he is our President, and if the American people have anything to say about it, he will be the President til 2024.
He's had time to perfect his scam, here you can see how desperate he was to break into politics by constantly staying in the news.Same message of doom and gloom.Hope he rots in prison where he belongs.
Same message, never flip flopping, true to our country its citizens, always worried about our farmers that feed us This man is a true patriot and meant to run our country, imo hes the only one that can fix this disaster the dems have created
I agree, you can clearly see that he's never changed his views. He was anti-American even then. He hates America. He claims he loves it, and then he bashes it, and bashes it, and bashes it. He's been American bashing for DECADES. He talks a good game, but when you see this man here, and you think you see a successful businessman, it's all a sham. What you're looking at is six bankruptcies. You're looking at thousands of destroyed lives because he refused to pay people for work that they did. You're looking at defaults on contracts. You're looking at decades of fraudulent financial and tax filings. Decades of posing as a successful businessman while being on the brink of disaster, and conning people to loan him money, and then defaulting on loans. Yet, here he is talking about how the United States is losing hundreds of billions of dollars a year, blah, blah, blah. Meanwhile he shows not even a rudimentary understanding of the post World War II world order, and why we pay for Japan's defense. And why NATO was formed. We provide for them so they don't have to. So they can focus on engineering and manufacturing without having to focus on military might to defend their borders. The same goes for every other member of NATO. And what it is designed to do is to prevent individual countries, like France, like Germany, like Japan, and like all the other smaller countries from having to try to win through military dominance: to allow them to not have to fear their neighbors. It's a pact between nations to protect each other's interests, and it's a form of civilization that has stopped this country from plunging back into World War. We had two world wars where TENS OF MILLIONS of people died horrible deaths from gunshots, and artillery, and infection, and starvation, and sickness, and disease. IN 30 YEARS! For perspective, 2001 was 22 years ago. Imagine if 60 million people had died in global conflict in the last 30 years. THAT is WHY the post WW2 order was established by men who had experienced the horrors of global conflict. And it's kept us safe for nearly 75 years. My point is, firstly that Donald Trump here, as a failed businessman, is not qualified to talk about the money that the US might have been "losing" which is dubious anyway, knowing what we know about Donald's proven (admitted) proclivity for exaggeration and misrepresentation. Something he calls "Truthful hyperbole". "“The Art of the Deal,” 1987: The final key to the way I promote is bravado. I play to people’s fantasies. People may not always think big themselves, but they can still get very excited by those who do. That’s why a little hyperbole never hurts. His words, not mine. You can look at the creation of his myth as a businessman by playing of one on The Apprentice. And now you can even see the extent of his fraudulent tax and value statements as revealed in the New York civil case. And you'll notice, I haven't even gotten up to the debacle of his presidency, or the 2020 election, or January 6th, or Mar-a-Lago classified documents case, or the 91 felony counts against him. But once you have seen all of that, and you have a clear vision of who the man really is. You realize that he doesn't love america. He doesn't love you. He doesn't love me. He doesn't represent any ideal. He's a man who represents only himself and that also has been documented.
it’s wild, he’s already turned it around and he’s only been in for 3 years. He signed the new China trade deal, Japanese trade deal, United States Mexico and Canada Trade Deal all in like 3 fucking years. Dude was not bluffing at all it’s crazy. Most presidents don’t do any. Also he talked a big game on not fighting wars with 3rd world people in the streets and just using our military to kill their leaders instead and he’s whacked like 5 top guys in the last year lol.
Well we’ll see this is how stupid cnn is they put this voice up but they are helping him To be re-elected now how stupid can you be thanks cnn Trump for ever great. I love it when he wins win win win
His stands is almost 4 decades old. It didn’t change. He’s pretty solid with his stands. I dunno why people act so surprise with his policy. Just saying, not saying he’s the man. The guy just pretty been the same. Even his character and attitude. The way he criticise the mayor and all.
Unlike the media of today, this interview was intelligent, thoughtful and polite. The callers were intelligent, Larry was polite and never interrupted Mr. Trump. As far as deficits are concerned, neither Trump nor anyone else had any idea where we would be 25 years later.
That's because he actually cares about fixing America. Shame the left deteriorated so much that there is extreme hate for him. Maybe that's why at first he didnt want to be president and this is what makes him so good. Hes hated for that.

This completely changed my opinion about Donald Trump. This must be No. 1 campaign message for every American to see. He should have been today’s president if this message was out for everyone to see when he ran for the 2nd turn.
Trump could have done remedy if he was reelected after the first term. He started really good on his first term. The 2024 election I will still vote for him, 100,%. I pray to God he'll win, but Trump has to start over again fixing America. A Big mess has been done in Biden's Administration.

@@carolynmansager6952 Barry Sotoroe was born in Kenya...and while everyone was screaming about 1 murdered journalist (no one mentions Seth Rich) Trump was making peace...no new wars, strong markets, strong economy, lowest unemployment, lowest taxes, Abraham accords, US Embassy moved to Jerusalem, lowest gas prices, Iran Deal ended, ISIS destroyed...all that crap you spewed was mostly before we elected him...all these things he did as president...you dont have to like him, but he is head and shoulders above any president we have had for a long time..I never watched the Apprentice, have better things to do like work and family...we like people like trump who dont take crap...and quit spewing the racist shit, it's a REALLY old lie...you are the racist and you have been fooled into proving it.
Donald Trump does not change his opinions based on what is trending. He is consistent and like him or not, he deserves respect. I believe he accomplished more in 4 years, even handicapped by fake media and corrupt politicians, than any modern day President and maybe any President. America needs people like him in politics. He will always have my vote and I am proud of him.
Well, i´m not a Trump fan but i´m starting to think that his staments are real, not a scrip, he truly sounds like a person who wants to apply a business background in the government for the sake of the american people. I don´t think is CNN thinks on this video as a negative ad, if they do they´re wrong, this video makes me think that the Donald is more trustworthy than Hill dog, crooked hillary or killary clinton as people call her haha.
There's nothing trustworthy about Trump. He's a pathological liar, and he wants to lower taxes on billionaires. Trump takes everything wrong with Hillary (greed, corruption) and combines it with xenophobia, bigotry, climate change denial, and general stupidity. I will NEVER vote for Trump, and if it comes down to stopping Trump I will easily vote for Hillary or anyone else.
+Chief Well that´s true, some things like the climate change denial are very medieval thinking, unfourtunately i think america is now in a lose-lose scenario, Hillary is a shit and Bernie is extremely liberal, end-members doesn´t work, Bernie policies are the ones who could easily kill the American dream, the country with more opportunities for personal growth, as Rubio say "Bernie could be a good president, for Sweden or Iceland", yeah better life quality and health for most people but say good bye to personal growth. Is that the American talent?, a guy whose comments promote racism, a guy who deny the research of american univeristies on climate change, a guy who only tell crazy staments but is not capable to explain who he is gonna do what he say, in the other hand a liar under FBI investigations and the other guy of the psycho fans who want to change the identity of America, how do this happen???
This video completely backfired on CNN trying to make Trump look like a hypocrite but makes him look like the most consistent person in the white house.
Yeah I don’t see how this was supposed to make Trump look bad unless you disagree with his policy or political opinions. Maybe they were trying to make him look like a hypocrite when he said he was never running for president? That’s doesn’t make much sense though.
It IS NOT. He never answered the caller that asked how is very wealthy and why he is not contributing to all of the hungry homeless and those needing assistance. I agree with his foreign policies but he could have very well helped these people in need a LONG time ago if he really wanted to. People use your logic!!!!!! jesus. Americans scare me right now.
Hiya, please watch the video again. Trump explained why he couldnt, that its up to the federal government to set up a system for a long term solution. The underlying causes of poverty wont be solved by simply throwing money at it and walking away. I also noticed you glossed over or forgot about the detail that he built low income housing in inner cities. Low income housing is for the poor. Poor= low income. What else was there to be done from him aside from standing on a street corner throwing money at people?
***** well if you like socialism and the education that fuck your brain so much you can't even understand English, Nigeria, Congo, Ukraine are all waiting for you, no one is stopping you..libertard
he can do anything he wants. bull shit he can't. LOL Fabrizio calling me a libertard. interesting choice of words for someone you DO NOT KNOW. I actually have a degree from a top rated institution and think FOR MYSELF unlike some people. But go ahead and insult me. It's doing a lot of good for this corrupt planet ....
Been the same since forever, same message, no gimmicks. This paid off for him. No stupid hunting outfits when in the south, no slang in inner cities, just a suit, haircut and unwavering message.
@@keldonmcfarland2969 well he ran for presidency in 2000 and people were asking him in the late 80s already. During this interview he was starting to test the waters. With the help of Russians, he figured it out
In 2023 in front of HE WORRIED ABOUT AN alian FACE ,he FACED OFF WITH ON THAT INFO CHANNEL FOR THEY APARTMENT MMIW laws HE MADE while EX PREZ CLINTON WAS gon OUT on him,,they was GAY ,EAVEN WITH KIDS N blame other pres for pervert QUOTES in 2023 GETTING IN THE WAY MIDDLE EAST scams GOING ON Behind MMIW LAWS IN 2023 DO HE KNLW TBAG or z,,ASK his CHUCKY FROM THIS 1980S INTERVIEW,,,I watched ONE CHUCKY one time lol
He was only 54 in this interview but looked 70 😂. Some people just look old. Joe Biden when he was in his 30s looked like he was in his 50s. I'm 35 and look 25. I thought I was crazy but it seems many other people agree, people these days look way younger for their age then they did in the past generations. Could be because of lifestyle, could be due to the lack of lead in the air from gasoline. Who knows.
Love him or hate him, you have to admit that his message is consistent and did not change, whether it was 1980, 1987, 1993 or today. 18:57 - Larry King was very prophetic here, he & Trump nailed it
@@Feadds Yeah. No. He definitely didn't solve anything. He only created more problems, and created new group of psychos in his own party. It's nice to know they're literally killing themselves to look stupid though! LOL When they're ALL GONE, WE CAN... MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!
trumps the dumbest cunt that ever walked in shoe leather. The only thing great about him is his great ability to BULLSHIT and LIE. He only opens his pie-hole to LIE. He even won the 2019 Media Award For Most Prolific Bullshitter of the Year.
thanks for providing me with another opportunity to post the trump links, jerk-off. A list of trumps great achievements. Damn if Trump was as smooth of a talker as he is in this interview I don't think he'd be so hated by a lot of people. He's actually fairly fucking smart.
+tricksonafixed It's all a strategy for media attention. Being "divisive" has gotten him over a billion dollars worth of free media coverage. If he talked like this in the debates, nobody would have paid attention to him.
+Chief I wonder if Trump are just saying shit as a campaign strategy that is not only cost-free but also to skyrocket his attention. Philippines had recently elected a similarly foul mouthed mayor named Duterte as president. Duterte is not as rich as Trump, he lives a simple life and his political party lacks clout (as if political parties in Philippines were ever relevant) but I think his PR strategy was masterful in gaining attention as he doesn't have much campaign funds in contrast to his rivals. Duterte insulted a dead nun, said fuck you to the pope (now he wants to apologise after winning the election) and he claims he will jetski and plant the Philippine flag in disputed islands in South China Sea. Trump does have money to campaign but he is a nobody in the GOP establishment and to the public at large. I suspect he is just saying controversial things to get public attention and he may flip-flop similar to Duterte who had also flip-flopped with controversial things he had said. I don't support Trump (I'm Sanders supporter) but if he ever gets elected, I really hope Trump was just speaking out of his ass.
Nothing wrong with a younger woman. Mine is a millenial and 10 years without any fights. Go younger and stay healthy... He'll take his 2nd term in Jan.
Funny how he spoke the exact same 30 years ago but people didn’t hate him like they do now. Edit: if you’re seeing this now it’s a distraction from gme and amc 🚀🚀🚀 Edit 2: pls don’t vote for trump again. this isn’t an « orange man bad » thing, we’re just better off without him
After seeing this interview I wonder why so many who knew him back then are so shocked by the way he talks now. The guy is exactly the same and they all liked him and admired him.
@Captain Obvious honestly it’s because him and the media have falling into this circle where one says something and the other says the exact opposite no matter what and he likes it it’s like they feed off each other
@@VintageReplay not so ....i just am like thousands of others who wants to keep up what this fool is doing . Its better to know than not know. Hes dividing America , he or his security wouldnt have to baracade the white house if he was decent and a good leader.
Rick Roo Yeah I know it’s 30 years since this interview, but my point was he’s been saying the same thing from even earlier. You can see him voicing similar opinions in interviews dating all the way back to the early 1970’s.
But was a democrat who, as a “millionaire real estate” heir doesn’t have a shelter or anything for the homeless that he is so concerned about....freaking con man. Couldn’t stand his racist butt back then and hate him now. Cheated his way into white house and only thing he was able to get thru was a tax scam that benefits HIM!!
yeah, in 1988 he said that he wanted to make america great again and said that he himself would have to step up. At least you can't say he's inconsistent
CNN you guys have an awesome opportunity to help a great man to once again become the president of the USA. This man loves the USA. America needs him. Stop bashing him and instead help him, if you love America that is, and America will also love you as I myself once loved CNN!
When he said he could live his life in peace, but instead is trying to fight for our country..that was a big statement and will always resonate. Before you hate Trump, think about that statement and what it means.
