In an interview with Jake Tapper, Donald Trump discusses violence at rallies, the 'Mexican heritage' of the judge presiding over the Trump University Fraud case and more
Despite the amount of absurdness that has come out of this man’s mouth, I find some of his ideas regarding taxing Chinese imports, “the need for” immigration control, and creating and bringing jobs back to America outstanding and very much needed. On the other hand, his concept and understanding of foreign policy and our military frightens me. He makes it as though Japan and Germany are the only ones benefiting by U.S. military bases being there when it is in fact a significant advantage for the United States. Yes we will defend those countries if they are attacked as he mentioned but let’s be real, we are in Japan because of its proximity to China just as we are in Germany due to its proximity to Russia and other European countries. Of course they are our allies and we want to protect them but this is foremost a military strategy. Our president needs to have integrity, experience, intelligence, receptiveness, and should be respected by not only Americans but by the rest of our world leaders and citizens as well. I for many reasons do not view him as suitable or prepared to be President of The United States.
+Mr Feathers can you list some of them and explained them. Because Everytime somebody ask him to go in depth about his policy and plans he can never explained them. Everything is "oh I'm going to build the wall" "I'm a great successful businessman" I don't need to hear any of the shit he had accomplished at this point we need somebody that give us answers, a strong plan on how are they going to rebuild and get this beautiful country back to normal. Unfortunately neither one of the candidates going to the elections are ready to do that. My opinion
Trump is the master of the dodge and re-frame. He dominates every conversation by turning the tables and shifting to attack any subject that doesn't go his way. President? You have to be effing kidding.
He's a demagogue. This is what demagogues have always done. He will destroy decades of American foreign policy and when he starts raging like a bull in a china shop, countries will align together against America to restore the balance of power.
Trump has a lot of energy and he is 70 , most of people at his age will preferred to be playing golf and enjoying his millions but not this one , he is a fighter always looking for challenges very inspiring
If we were in the position to take ANY immigrants than they still wouldn't be coming from that hell hole. People need to understand how much crime Mexico has. It's like the wild west. The cartels are as powerful as the govt of Mexico.
I lament for the country I fought for...how low will we choose to stoop? My country is so frightened, that it's choosing to become the very monsters it's told to be afraid of. My country is turning to a bully, and losing it's honor in the process. I don't hate Trump supporters, but I can't help but be sorely disappointed in the direction they envision for this nation. They crave isolation- which is the first major step toward collapse. I've made it my personal mission to expose the true cost of war to citizens; the reality of it begs us to stop. I fear that many will see the cost of war up-close and personal if Trump takes the wheel. I can promise most of you that you will not enjoy sending your children away to die on his behalf- and there will likely be no honor in it.
Actually, it's the Trump supporters on this thread that will be sent to war, that's the sad thing. They will be drafted. Power, Greed, Real Estate, Ego is not what running a "country" is about. The US needs to set examples for the rest of the world and rise above war. If there is a war, everybody loses. If Trump keeps running his mouth, my fear is that he will be shot and I don't want to see anyone ever assassinated. Trump is the bully your parents warned you about.
LOL me too. Gonna be hiiiiiiiilaaaaarious! My guess is that Putin, Xi and the others will literally be laughing backstage at how easy its gonna be to manipulate this new US president. And Trump himself will think he's getting a great deal out of them.
As opposed to the great dealmaker Hillary Clinton, well renowned for dancing at the puppet strings of her wallstreet bankers? A woman who cannot open her mouth unless someone has their hand lodged so far up her ass it reaches her esophagus? A woman who burned our relations with Russia to the ground when she attempted a normalization as Secretary of State but wrote the wrong word on a symbolic "reset" button? Donald Trump is a remarkably successful businessman who literally wrote the book on negotiation. Hillary Clinton is a political hack who has never earned a position in her life on her own merits because she has none except that she's incredibly easy and reliable to manipulate.
+Baleur oh yeah, you like those 10,000 page legislative policies that nobody can read before they have to vote on it. Then after it becomes law, we find out how we were f@cked.
Does Trump know what NATO is? How many superlatives does he use? Why is everything the best or the most or better than anyone else, or why he knows best and nobody else does? AMERICA YOU ARE GOING TO BE THE LAUGHING STOCK OF THE WORLD IF YOU ELECT HIM.
+SomeEdgyAccount have you heard the news, emails are coming out rapidly, some hackers and wiki leaks if I'm not misten, they already have emails proving the dnc was already coaching Hillary, discussing future compromises. I'm too tired I can't remember, oh an email confirmed her primary election staff were making the annual move to become presidential election staff, get this, a month before the California primary. there were a couple others pretty damning, but he says he's gonna keep releasing them and one contains information enough to justify without reasonable doubt she needs to be indicted. so let's all wait and see.
Trump is what the Republican Party needs. Someone who can talk loops and circles around anyone. He isn't black, gay, transgender, a Democrat, or whatever so he can't count on being sheltered. A real man never apologizes. What is an apology anyhow but a cheap way of getting out from under something. Actions speak louder. We need a strong leader. Trump 2016 2020 Mount Rushmore 2024
He's an inspiration to nut jobs every where. The guy is a Nazi scamming sack of shit! The fact that you find him an inspiration is pathetic & disgusting.
Being Mexican is not a race it's a nationality. Mexico is a multi-racial country founded by European settlers just like America and Canada. Those that say that being Mexican is a race probably assume that all Mexicans are brown people therefore if you say anything against them it's racist. Those that assume Mexican is a race are the real racist.
why is it so hard for tapper to understand that a judge with mexican heritage and ties to a pro-mexican activist organization (la raza) might have a bias against trump! tapper keeps asking the same question like he doesn't know what's going on.
Saying someone is likely to be biased because of his heritage isn't racism, not even if Jake Tapper says so. The law allows for Judges and Jurors to recuse themselves if their preconceived views make them likely to be perceived as being biased. This Judge publicly participates in La Raza activities and contributes to democrat candidates.Trump is right, he's biased and should recuse himself. No racism there, just plain fact
First of all, calling an American citizen a Mexican just b/c of his heritage is pure racism. He's born in Indiana, for God's sake. Do you think Trump would've called a guy with English parents "English"? Second, implying that he's biased b/c of his heritage is presumptive, at best. It's classic Trump trying to deflect & blame his way out of his mess up. He is making us argue about the judge's legitimacy rather than the fraud he committed. The guy is a certifiable scam artist.
Trump is treated unfairly in court case by Judge. Judge happens to be mexican, so Trump comes to a theoretical conclusion that the mexican judge is treating him unfairly due to Trump's controversial comments about mexicans over the course of his campaign. Makes complete sense. This isn't complicated Jake
There's more to it than that. It has to do with the organization he belongs to. His surrogates articulate it fine. But you can't just say it's because he's of Mexican heritage. Do you understand that? That is not evidence of anything. Many Mexican Americans support his immigration position, so by simple logic you can't conclude that being Mexican necessarily means he will be biased against Trump. You need more, and there is more. But Trump doesn't explain it any further. Why doesn't he? I don't know...does he think people are too dumb to understand the longer explanation? Is he incapable of articulating a more detailed explanation? What is it? Because he's just giving the enemy endless ammunition...
danman807 I think he's still playing by the say something over the top and get attention playbook. He had to have known this repeated line of attack would be pounced on by the mdeia immediately, although maybe not because they didn't pounce on it when he used it in March.
What he said wasn't racist, the guy is of Mexican heritage, of course he hates the fact that Trump wants to build a wall and probably ''thinks'' Trump is racist, he even said it's good to be proud of your heritage, just like I'm French Canadian and I'm proud of France and would totally be against my government if they started some shit with France. This is coming from a guy who doesn't even support Trump, I think he's honest about the state of the Economy, but I dislikes some of his ideas.I'm tired of these politically correct halfwits.
Mr. Trump isnt making it easy for people who defend him and say he isnt racist.I wonder if he'd say the same thing if the judge was white or black. If a white or black judge gave the same rulings as this hispanic one, what would he say to that? What is Trump's proof that a man from Indiana is bais because of his Mexican heritage? That's a huge accusation to make and even worse, so far, he's yet to provide proof.
I'm not even American but how can someone even think about voting for this guy? I understand you might agree more with his ideas and probably so do I but I truly believe people come first. You have to trust the person first, not his/her ideas. I love U.S. and I am very worried about this election, even if I wasn't born there.
Gotta give credit to Donald for doing interviews in enemy territory (CNN). Do you think Hillary would have the guts to do an interview with Fox News and answer the tough questions?
This interview shows that he is in fact a racist against Mexicans. You can't claim that you have no issue with legal U.S. citizens then turn right around and act this way about "Mexican heritage." This is RACISM.
You do realize he is saying the judge cannot be fair and impartial because he is very pro mexico, and Trump is going to build a wall, something that is not very pro mexico? How is that at all racist? I don't think you even know what racism is buddy.
***** Your reply means you do not know what racism even is. That is not a point you should be proud of, but you have no problem expressing it. Why is that? Are you racist too?
Yeah man i'm totally racist. You liberals are the real racist ones. Constantly pushing race into every discussion. You guys are even more racist because you don't even let the people who are supposedly being opressed defend themselves, you try to do it for them, like they are too incompetent! Loser.TheLyon11
The Justice Dept filed charges on Trump for Discrimination against Minorities ,so doesn't this disqualify him from representing Minorities as President? This is His Silly Argument !
***** The point is he said the judge can not do his job because of his heritage ,simply because he is building a wall. but it's he that has the record of discrimination. So if we apply the same logic to himself he cannot do his job because he discriminates. . Hypocrisy at its finest !
The judge Curiel is a prominent member of La Raza, basically the Mexican Klan. This guy is basically the grand dragon of La Raza- which means "the race." postimg.org/image/q8onmb0mp/ Oh, is being a racist OK if your skin is brown? post script: You Don't need to Rape The Shift Key all the Time. It Makes You Look Stupid.
Things like race or ethnicity are not valid excuses to challenge a judge's impartiality and even if Trump does not know that, his lawyers certainly do. Notice, they have not asked for the judge to step down because of his ethnicity. MacDraw Inc v. CIT Group is a prime example of this. Sure, Trump has the right to complain about the judge's ruling, of course not everyone is going to like the way a court case goes, but attempting to put his judgement into question based on his race or ethnicity has no legal grounds. Another interesting thing to note is that Trump did not, that I know of, bring the judges race into question as a conflict of interest until after the judge began ruling contrary to how Trump felt he should. He said in the interview "if he was giving me fair rulings, I wouldn’t say that ." Tapper began to reply "If you invoke his race..." and Trump replied "I think that's why he's doing it." Even if his lawyers did decide to bring it up now, they would have a hard time making it stick because they did not care until he ruled against them. All Trump is really saying here is that race does not matter unless he is losing.
What Trump is saying here doesn't have anything to do with racism. He is talking about possible lack of impartiality and bias. Basically he think the judge needs to recuse himself. This may or may not be true but Trump should've said these words because all the idiots out there are still thinking he's racist.
Trump's bigotry and racism goes way back to when he was 26 and President of his father's company. New York forced him to rent to blacks and in fact made him advertise to blacks and his rental managers were monitored to see that blacks who qualified in their applications were allowed to rent from him. If Trump's history was the one event with Trapper it would be different but Trump has a long history of being a bigoted racist and his own party recognizes it.
Let me see if I've got this. Judge Curiel is impartial because, despite being a US native, his family heritage introduces bias, meaning he is unable to perform his duty properly. Family heritage is okay - Trump is proud of his family heritage too - but Mexican heritage means he can't oversee a case about miss-selling unlicensed real estate courses associated with Trump 'cos Trump is gonna be bad for Mexicans. Except he's also good for Mexicans. Trump's family heritage is European. German mostly. Does that mean trump wouldn't be able to do his duty when dealing with Europe & Germany, because bias & impartiality? Or is it only a Mexican thing. Also, talking of impartiality; Trump is defendant in this case, and has had rulings go against him so far...
BULLPUPS09 "Don't forget the judge is also..." Duane Gish would be proud. Look, given that politics is a thing and any Judge, no matter how professional or respected, could be accused of bias one way or the other... maybe it's not smart to select a presidential candidate currently being sued in multiple, class action, racketeering cases. It makes arriving at justice in those cases messy and makes the presidential run messy. But if that's what you really wanna do, you're just going to have to accept that there's gonna be some messiness. Just sayin'. Also, getting down to brass tacks and keeping it real for a moment. What Trump is doing (rather shamelessly) is stalling. If he can kick up enough fuss and cause a review of procedure it pushes the court process back - past, say, November and beyond. That's how the game is played: If you're worried about losing you play the process and delay and then you delay some more - because if you're gonna lose $$$ it's better to lose them later and have them in the mean time, rather than loose them sooner. Check out the case histories, it's Trump's MO. In sport it's called time wasting - and if you do it often, it's cheating. It's looking like Trump is a rotten pick. Sorry.
Trump: 'I ll be too busy working, not decorating'. best reply possible. always on message. new trade deals with China, Mexico and Japan. this will really stick to the minds of voters after watching that 20 min interview.
How do you feel about your president now? Do you think it is keeping its promise? It is too busy alright, on the golf course and we are paying for it to do that. Thank you for putting it at the white house. BYW i want a refund of my tax dollars that helped pay for its golfing. Since your a proud supporter can you refund me my money?
You gotta give him one thing, he wiggles his way out of every question and he manages to give you the feeling that every commend he has ever made is absolutely reasonable (even though some of them were extremely racist)
The fact that it's not a university, the fact that he conned hundreds of students to max their credit cards out when it's not even an accredited school. That by itself is fraudulent an illegal.
A 2010 Snopes report asserts that the first-listed co-founder of Judge Curiel’s group, Obledo, made the statements. They reported: Mario Obledo was a co-founder of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF) and the La Raza Lawyers of California bar association, and he formerly served as California’s Secretary of Health and Welfare. We don’t know exactly when and where he first made his controversial statement about California’s becoming a “Hispanic state,” but he has confirmed he said it at least twice: during an appearance on Ray Briem’s talk radio show in May or June of 1998, and again on Tom Leykis’ talk radio show: Obledo: “We’re going to take over all the political institutions of California. In five years the Hispanics are going to be the majority population of this state.” Caller: “You also made the statement that California is going to become a Hispanic state, and if anyone doesn’t like it, they should leave. Did you say that?” Obledo: “I did. They ought to go back to Europe.
►►► RED ALERT! Our maritime borders and ports of entry are unsafe and unsecured! Donald needs to make his beautiful and imaginary wall longer! not taller!
+Defcon Dos I am not doubting you but is this true? I plead ignorance. I never knew this. Is there a link you can provide to back this up? Incredibly interesting.

Judge Curiel isn't tied to the National Council of La Raza. He's a member of the La Raza Lawyers Association. The names are similar but they're entirely different organisations. www.snopes.com/judge-curiel-la-raza-kkk/
What I think Mr Trump was trying to say when referring to the Mexican Judge, was that his conduct in the way the case has been handled thus far was akin on some level to the state of mind of Mexicans who would cross the border illegally and who may commit crimes in the USA in terms of the one sided nature of rulings handed down and his conflict of interest with regard to the Society of which he is a member. He was not referring to the character of those Mexicans who have settled legally in the USA and continue to contribute in a meaningful way and in mass support the Trump campaign because they along with all Americans fully understand the implications of going with other flawed candidates. I think a Motion to Recuse under the stated circumstances would be given all the more weight, and would most definitely be justified.
+WorClanChannel Pretty sure he is of Mexican heritage and makes a point of letting everybody know this, whichever way because of making rulings in this way he has left himself completely open to grounds for recusal.
One has to wonder why he employs such lousy attorneys who cannot understand how to oppose a judge you do not wish to hear your case? Forcing the poor man to go on TV and racially attack the judge so that finally someone would listen to the "facts' of the case (as he sees it anyway) on TV so people clearly understand his lawyers cannot find their asses with two hands and a flashlight.
sociopathic, narcissist...I sure as hell don't want him running the country. Trump is nothing but a joke! Just wait, Trump's going to continue to put his feet in his mouth and Republicans are going to jump to the Hillary Ship to save themselves and the party.
+Defcon Dos Yeah but Deacon, you have to admit. He does keep repeating himself and is extremely evasive. I'm not knocking you for supporting Trump but he doesn't really carry himself well as a speaker.
+Dukerbud 88 Let me be clear, I am English second user but his english is business language, it is not so much academic as language of other candidates
+Doãn Định I can appreciate that but there is a certain "way" to come across more intelligent as PR guy than a business guy. Remember, this is the presidential candicacy. It's not a business transaction that he has to negotiate. He needs to "relate". He really comes off not too bright. I am not saying he isn't. ..but I can see that perception.
But trump is correct and everytime trump makes a point his tried to cut him off . I trust trump to do whats right wayyyy more than Hilary 😏 and the media so biased but i get it
4.44 Trump pulls a freudian slip! before the 'walls' , before the wars started... we all know subconsciously you cannot wait for your wall to be built trump.
People forget that it was a capitulation condition that japan is not allowed to develop an offensive army, and that, instead , the US will grantee it's safety. If allowed and wanting to do so, how fast so you think Japan or Germany could develop nukes. And how many could they produce? And how capable would they be? Let's just remember that toyota is the largest car maker and rightfully so
