Dave Wise is a genius. This track gives you a sense of danger, like this world isn't somewhere you're supposed to be, and the level design backs it up.
I found myself in disbelief when I reached this level as a kid- I literally dropped the controller from my hands and stared at the screen in hopes I was ready for it! In addendum, the music itself set me and my lifted spirit (after beating the boss and having a majority of DK coins) back to a corner where the wimps would gather and die. Amazing music, amazing sense of adventure- Donkey Kong Country 2 for the SNES was the top of the shelve, balls to the walls awesome!
Rareware, thank you sooo much for giving me a childhood. it is not just the gameplay that made your games great!!!, it is also the super amazing soundtrack that you put into your games!!. from killer instinct to donkey kong man!!. You guys are legend!!. I really hope you get this message.
Not gonna lie I freaked the hell out when I found this place the first time I played DK2, the music Dave Wise did for DKC2 was the best of the series imo. I was just like "PLEASE LET THERE BE NO STUPID BRAMBLE STAGES HERE!!!".
Ren Tsukiyomi Fuck this world. And Animal Antics can go burn. That level is just pure hell and torture. I lost wayyyyy too many lives to count. Hahaha!
@@darkangel8492 Animal Antics was a real pain in the ass. The rest of it wasn't too bad, but that....I don't even remember much about it but just remember it was hell to get through.
this theme gave you that sense that if you progressed any further in the Lost World you were in for the fight of your life. this song is just that epic. DKC2 FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the DKC2 music so much, but it really took me this long to realize The Lost World theme and Crocodile Cacophony are similar tracks with several differences.
I feel exactly the same.^^ Listening to this and seeing the lost world is really awesome to me - I still know, when we (my brother and I) first saw the lost world many many years ago and were excited, how awesome alone the picture with the music was...I think it's the best game of the DK series and the soundtrack was also the best.
Rare used to make so many AMAZING games... they literally fueled my love for video games when I was little..... but after they came back with Nuts and Bolts" I'm glad they're gone now..
@OgnarPliskin Yeah, DKCR is awesome and I love that Retro gave the series what it deserve, they have become one of my favorite developers because of that game and the Metriod Prime seires. Also, I do agree with you about Rare.
I'm not sure what it is but there's something about the Lost World that feels forbidden. Like it's something really sinister you're never supposed to see.
Lucky me I still have all the great games people miss.. from Dk country 1-2-3 to good old banjo kazooie-tooie and conker bad fur day =) aahh.. good games i luv shoo =3
What's funny about that is that RARE grew gutsy enough to say "We're gonna make a Donkey Kong game, basically without playing as Donkey Kong." yet again, that's how Donkey Kong 1 and 3 were, Donkey Kong Jr. kept to its word because you actually played as his son.
Poor two monkeys have go through all this mess after collecting all Kermling coins in bonus levels and this is how they end up to take on K. Rool in the hell like island. This music is awesome but intense levels though... Oof!
If you want this game at 2014 1.if you preserved this game and a SNES(which i do) then plug it in and play. 2.just download gba4ios from safari and download DKC2
@sammypatch it ain't gonna be the same, even if it does happen. there gonna have new people working on the new titles, and they're gonna suck badly cause it's not the original work from the old crew.
Spread the word as well that's the only way rare and nintendo can become one again by any lawful means we must win this battle for rareware and nintendo
