@@darkwater22 David Wise didn't do any of the level themes, he just did some of the overworld music like the bear shops and save cave and the bonus music
I always found this song to be the most atmospheric of all the songs in this level. Maybe its just cuz I really loved hearin that guitar line rip in while I was staring at the mountainy background
Not to reply to a... decade-old comment jesus christ... but I always had the exact same feeling about this song. Eveline Fischer really understood how to use instruments that literally feel like the environments they're playing in. The airy flute felt like the canyons and rivers fading away into the background, while the percussion somehow felt like the cliffs and rocks themselves.
You know, it's the older games like these where you can pause the game and the music keeps on going. I would do that all the time for music such as this. My SNES became my music player when I was little. ^w^ wonderful memories
Actually, imo, best part is the 0:35 - 0:40 drum fill. So left alone, yet not being so powerful, like vacuum tools, almost empty toms, not thick at all, but it satisfies the atmosphere so well, full of meaning, its a resemblance of those hills, far away, at the distance, with the sun, the falling sun being the little flute and the other melodic instruments being the animals, except for the kongs, the kongs are the rythm synths. So yeah, one of the best toms ive ever heard. You can tell those drums are for me the best part because the best thing about this (or these levels) is the landscape. So fucking beautiful. Nothing in dkc2 can compare to rockface rumble.
This game is epic. I think each Donkey Kong Country game is equal and each had a strong point to it. Donkey Kong Country 1 had the best overall difficulty. Donkey Kong Country 2 had the best atmosphere. Donkey Kong Country 3 had the best creative level design and ideas.
I LOVE THIS SONG! for some reason this song makes me feel stronger and its like if its the theme of my life im not sure but i feel a strong communication with this theme i just love this one them
I bought the GBA version of this anticipating to hear this again (this was before RU-vid lol and SNES was stolen) and was a bit peeved they completely redid it. Both versions are great, but I paused the game in awe at that guitar solo back in 1996. Loved this game.
I honestly hold this theme responsible for my love of heavy percussion in music. I swear to god this is the second best theme in the trilogy, the best being Gangplank Galleon from the original (fucking fight me)
N foi ele que compôs essa música, foi a Eveline (n sei o sobrenome dela), a maior parte da soundtrack do dkc3 não foi composta por ele, por isso o estilo musical é tão diferente dos outros dois
You know what? Imma go ahead and say it, this is the PERFECT Cliff Level song. With the adventurous percussion and the triumphant guitar solo it fits perfectly. I like the GBA one as a song more though.
The stage where the bazuka is shooting the barrels is fun. I love blowing up those red bees, I don't like the one with the burning rope though *shudder*
Obscure Media I honestly prefer this one. Dkc2 is great but this manages to get as good as stickrrbrush without being too synthy. This track is the proof. Theres something so natural and organic in this that i never listened on any dkc2 theme
I grew up with the first one and loved it. I played them in order actually and I actually prefer the second and third ones over the first one to be honest.
same riff. FYI, the mine cart sound was carried over from DKC1 to make the percussion sound in Kannons Klaim. And of course, the riff was carried into DKC3 for this song.
This one is much better than the GBA version. I started with the GBA version as a kid and only realized that they were remakes when I got older, lol. SOMETIMES the SNES has better music, sometimes the GBA. Also, it's subjective to which is better too.
