One thing I absolutely love about this game is how the first level of each world transitions from one part of the map to the next like leaving the caves and entering the forest. They put so much effort into this
This doesn't work for all worlds, though. The cliff's first level has no hint of the previous world, the forest. That's bad, considering all other worlds more or less do have some elements about the previous ones. I think they forgot about it when they designed the first cliff level.
I absolutely love how you’re always up in the treetops for all the levels and never on the forest floor, it just shows a whole new creative outlet of how the platforms look that I love so much. The creativity of this game is unmatched.
Muncher Marathon... that level reminds me too much of the nightmares i had about that one level in Super Mario 3D World with the fuzzies. Ya'll know what i'm talking about if you've been to world 6.
I would've used bears in fact. Hippos do not fit at all in such a forest, but if you think about other enemies - jellyfish that float in the air, giraffes in the jungle (instead of savanna), moles in caves - then I don't care.
I do, but that's mostly because David Wise is one of the best music composers at Nintendo, and the forest is the best world in the game, especially after how terrible the cave was.
@@jclkaytwo I know that, but a lot of HIS songs are in DKCR like Aquatic Ambience, Treetop Rock, Mine Cart Madness or Carnage, Fear Factory, and the Jungle Japes theme song is here too. All of those are songs he wrote, nobody else.
@@carterjames8829 those are phenomenal compositions, but I honestly feel like that takes away from the quality of DKCR's soundtrack. besides the rocket barrel levels and the boss fights, there are very few original compositions made for this game. it makes the soundtrack almost feel... nostalgia pandering. especially since wise didn't come back and give his own spin on these classic themes like he did in tropical freeze. while I applaud how much the tracks enhance the atmosphere of the levels, it's worth noting that these themes were already well proven to work 16 years before DKCR even came out. personal gripe though. great music.
Well, he IS old and an asshole, so of course he'd extort his grandson for mandatory items while simultanously insulting him all the time. I really wish there was a way to kick him in the face sometime.
