Definitely agree on the cynicism in gaming issues. While it's good to recognize short comings even small ones. There is definitely way to big a focus on it.
Yes, hitting a walrus does end your roll, as they tend to take 3 hits. Or 9 if they're Lord Fredrick. Good to see a play through of a game in my favourite series. They're both hard games you're playing though, so there's that tying them together.
Did Diddy's cap always have the Nintendo logo on it? Feel like that is a bit much. Oh so this is a challenge run. Well good luck to yah. It is definitely doable. I've beaten this, but not while also going for the puzzle pieces. Would rather you move on than stick around to learn time attack. The game treats Time Attack seriously. To get Gold you need to find what the correct pathing through the level is cause your not getting it otherwise.
Yeah, I remember that Time Attack is pretty strict from the few levels that I have attempted in the past. Definitely challenging, but not the kind of challenge I really enjoy myself.
Tropical Freeze indeed doesn't give checkpoints in its hard mode. HOWEVER it is nice and let's you play as Diddy Kong (or more importantly Dixie Kong and Cranky Kong) I've never beaten Return's Hard mode, but I have for Tropical Freeze. Perhaps I should go back to Return's one day.

Yup aliens come from deep space to steal our bananas . Makes total sense. I do like they show that DK is to stupid to be hypnotized though. They wrap up that plot hole very well. Seriously Mirror Mode. Why are you torturing yourself? In my LP I died so many times... this is going to be ridiculous Tropical freeze felt like a weaker entry than this game. Who isn't into Dark Souls? These Nintendo fan boys/girls I swear lol Not everyone wants to be challenged ? Its not challenging enough?? Upscaling doesn't really exist. You can't make something go to HD just by playing it on a higher platform. Its all superficial in looks.... its not True HD. Am I able to get off Rambi to blow those guys.....lol Out of context this would sound bad. Around 31mins I start to notice the sound effects are desynced just a bit. These K levels were the death of me. I could have told you there was no items in mirror mode. But you learned this the hard way. If this took an hour... future worlds are going to take 2 hours lol
I feel like I'm the only person who came to the conclusion that DK was to smart to be hipmontized. I mean a Money is a lot smarter then a chipmunk. Tropical Freeze was a far superior game in my opinion. As for upscaleing, it actually is possible for a game to be rendered at a higher resolution depending on how it was originally coded, of course it won't get any higher polygon, but it will look marginally better than playing it on a weaker system and upscaling it on the computer (which, naturally you should do anyway because RU-vid's compression is poorly designed)
