This is one of the most creative and imaginative and best level design I have ever played! Every jump is creative and fun, every screen has so much charm and detail in the background and foreground. The soundtrack is top 5 in video games ever! PLEASE do yourself a favor and get this game immediately. Most underrated game ever.

This game is a masterpiece

I am very excited for 5/4 when I can start this adventure on the Switch! I missed this game when it was on the Wii U but have heard nothing but great things!!

One of my fav platformers of all time. The music and the worlds are so damn fun. Dont let people saying it's too hard discourage you. Its challenging yes, but its not impossible or unfair and most importantly, its a blast to play.

This game is so good. Each stage is masterly crafted, atmospheric, distinct and fun. Yes, even Shoal Atoll. This game is so good, I wish I could have a concussion, forget everything, just so I can experience this game again for the first time! This game is so good, it has influenced how I create Mario Maker levels (gmtk made a great video about design) and how I write music. Oh yes! The music, I haven’t even talked about the music. I completed and 200% the game 2 years ago yet I am still knee deep in the music! It handles key changes elegantly, great chord progressions, has SO perfect melodies and is overall beautiful! I could do an analysis on every track and why it’s great. From the reggae esc Busted Bayou to the swiss alps of Windmill Hills. From the ratatouille sound of the accordion in Rodent Ruckus to the pleasing depths of Amiss Abyss’s piano. I can’t believe how David Wise was able to describe a fruity jungle more perfect than he already does! Harvest Hazards, Jammin’ Jams, Seashore War, Frozen Frenzy, I could go on and on and on. This game is so good, I can’t stress that enough. If you don’t own this game for some reason, PLEASE buy it! It is so underrated even though it’s the gold standard and the magnum opus of Nintendo’s 2d platformers! TL;DR Game good

If you skipped out on this on the Wii U, I highly, HIGHLY, recommend giving it a try. This game may just be one of the best 2D platformers I've ever played.

200%ing this game was some of the most fun i have ever had with a game... the level design and soundtrack are just AMAZING! Not to mention, funky is the man! Looking forward to ripping through this again!

I like that the switch is receiving the highlights of the Wii U so nobody has to worry about keeping that thing around for only a handful of exclusives

It's been 2 years since this was released for the switch. We need another installment! Bring back the Kremlings!

Donkey Kong is actually a very good game. There are some things that could be improved: On hard when choose another monkey at the end the loading is the DK. It doesn't work to 'beat' bosses. The purchased figures and dioramas could be automatically displayed for a few seconds so they could be enjoyed at the time of purchase while eating a eat and drinking water and watching. And have a 'final work edition' of the SNES Donkey as there Rock n roll racing definitive edition.

I've always wanted this in 1080p and can't wait to play it again!
