I think my theory is coming together more and more. Charlie would have wanted positive confirmation the hit happened from another party than Katie before he paid for the hit. Remember the rumor he had paid for another hitman that took the money and ran? That’s why he needed Wendi to contact him after she drove by Trescot, and that’s where my theory comes into play. I’ve spoke to the FBI.
Makes sense, but it is a little weird how he kept repeating what Cappleman said about how "she just HAD to go to the crime scene." He does tend to talk in weird ways though, much like in the Dolce Vita recording.
