Jimmy from his Soul Deep album, does a duet John Farnham; singing a cover of a 1966 Sam and Dave song When Something is Wrong With My Baby. John Farnham is another great Australian artist, who has had No.1 hit songs and albums over 5 decades(1960's to 2000's). Get well Kathy…..sorry you missed this one….. Kudos to the person who wrote this banger of a song, Don Walker (keyboard player of Jimmy’s band, Cold Chisel). Some extra details about Mr Jimmy Barnes, my favourite singer ❤❤❤❤ He was only 16 and a half when he joined Cold Chisel. Whilst he was their lead singer, Chisel has a guitarist who also has a great voice, by the name of Ian Moss, and he sings on quite a few of their songs. They are definitely worth checking out. They disbanded in 1983 and Jimmy has had over 40 years of hits since as a solo artist. I think he has had 20 number one albums here, including the five with Chisel. Jimmy sings a soul song by Sam and Dave, A Change is Gonna Come live in 1984. He has more but this is just a start… For rock (which in his autobiography is his favourite genre), the wildest song is Wild Thing (a cover of The Troggs song) and this is a good introduction to Ian on guitar and some vocals…. Jimmy’s daughter was in Joe’s band….her name is Mahalia Barnes. Check out her singing Riding with the Kings with Joe……and also Nasty Girl. For an all girl song check out Mahalia in The Real Thing, with two other females, Kate Ceberano and Nikka Costa (a cover of a song by another Australian, Russell Morris. The original by him from 1969 would be something Donna may like too). Jimmy’s son, Jackie, was playing the drums on this track. I could really go on for days with Jimmy suggestions….. PS Cold Chisel reformed and toured after 1983, so that is why there are subsequent concerts online after this time, such as the 2003 Ringside concert. Check out Bow River and When the war is over from this one too.🎉🎉

And truly wonderful song…… have fun discovering Jimmy, Cold Chisel and his band mates you’ll soon be in love with all of them.
My first time here and I felt that this reaction was special. Mum obviously connected, not just to the guitarists she already loved but then the voice and the lyrics clearly swooned her. I bought the coffee. Jimmy is sometimes described as The Austrailian Chainsaw. Notice when Joe plays a solo with a singer his guitar follows the singer almost exactly. Don't forget my Joe request of Song of Yesterday Live at Carnegie Hall.
For some reason this song reminds me of the movie " Adventures In Babysitting" where in a blues bar the guy can't leave without singing the blues. Well he prob wishes he sang like Jimmy Barns with a blues player like Joe Bonamassa.

You should hear Jimmy's daughter Mahalia Barnes. She is one of the backup singers in Joe's band(right side) she also has her own albums and she does some studio songs with Joe. You really need to check her out.
