Danny chan was born to play the role of bruce lee. Imagine living your whole life knowing that people will always remember you as one character and that character is a legend.
It was the best Bruce lee actor I have seen in my life, (the legend of Bruce lee) episodes means so much a lot to me and bring back to memories in the past when I was 6 years old with my best friend , i had to see him passed away by now and we used to watch together when younger and even older onwards, really gave me ❤ and 😭 to see them , the videos was similar from the first few bruce lee ones like when he went to different schools to fighting at each other wanting that who is the best styles and things😊 and even the crazy English subtitles and music was similar, he would have loved to see something like that, some things like that mean the world to me !!
honestly didn't realize danny chan was so old. And I didn't know he was the same guy from shaolin soccer and kung fu hustle. It's amazing that he has barely aged.
After I watched the finalé, I feel like vomiting because Bruce Lee was just an extra in the film. Damn movie felt rushed, racist propaganda, demeaning to other Chinese martial arts and stupidly spent millions on a dumb Father family drama shitshow when they could have included more Jeet Kune Do, Bruce Lee, Brandon Lee, more Chinese forms of martial art (like some Xingyi Chuen, Choy Lifut, more Taichi action). You will feel like the damn series didn't justify Ip Man's life. And I doubt this movie will be remembered in 2020.
@@MichaelNgTzeWei I respexr your view but the focus is on Yip man not Bruce. That is why Bruce was a peripheral character. On the other hand, I heard that the same producers might create a new series about Bruce Lee.
@@MichaelNgTzeWei the movie is called ip man for a reason. Yip man is a wing chun master, the movie is suppose to teach about Yip mans life, how he made wing chun big, and teaches about the wing chun martial art.
@@JoJo-nv8jy Ip Man has met and even took pictures with Bruce Lee's son, Brandon for God's sakes. Here in the movie, we hardly see Bruce and Ip Man together, so by the time your producers make a Life of Bruce Lee movie, do you think Ip man fans will go see it now given that both did not build as uch of a rapport beyond teacher and student relationship?
I really hope to see more Danny Chan as Bruce, I kinda got too fondle of him playing that role after watching the _"The Legend Of Bruce Lee"_ (2008) Chinese TV series, he not just fits perfectly but his efforts and performance is remarkably astonishing. Deserves a prize to me 👌🏼💯🔥...
@@brujita2498 Me too, but he is now much older than Bruce. Maybe with some make up, it will work. I watched the 2008 series earlier this year on Netflix. It was amazing how you could almost believe that the Dragon was still with us.
Melissa Slade same for me ,had to dig deep other series and yeah ,ipaman 4 and 3 we’re really good..as a kid I admired Bruce then Jackie Chan now Donnie yen lol
I think that Bruce Lee fight scene in Ip Man 4 is already worth the entire ticket cost. It isn't even about the fighting choreography (it's great though), but more about re-imagining a legend and putting it on screen. Now that's something. It kinda reminds me of Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody.
Just watched the trailer. They can't replicate Bruce Lee's energy on the screen. But got to be honest, this version is the most acceptable of Bruce Lee portrayal
@@BRIANBA100 Yes because I think Southern Kung Fu is superior than Northern Kung Fu and Gordon Liu is a master of Hung Gar discipline which is Southern while Jet Li is a Northern Martial Arts Master. Feng Wei character from Tekken is solely based on Hung Gar mixed with Northern Kung Fu and Leroy Smith is Wing Chun like Ipman which is also a Southern Style Kung Fu. In movies I prefer Southern Style because it has less flying stunts and more on fast hand punches, but I think Hung Gar is just better than Wing Chun. If you are talking of real fight then probably Donnie Yen>Jet Li>Gordon Liu because the other 2 had real experience in fighting.
The Legend of Bruce Lee is a good masterpiece much like the ip man franchise. Danny Chan really displayed a good accurate Bruce Lee when watching in english audio. When watching Danny and Donnie bring these characters to life is amazing. Bruce Lee saying I am chinese after he won the karate championship in America was as inspiring as naruto becoming hokage.
Low key, I appreciate that he says the stories are mainly fictional. Helps to let us appreciate the movies for what they are, and not try to compare how realistic the settings are.
Donnie and Danny u guys are amazing! Kudos cheers and praises to u both for the excellent work in ur films! Wish Danny had came out w spirit of fight! That would have been amazing! Please make more movies... U guys have too much to offer still... Especially Danny! Ur the closest and the best I have ever seen to BL!
I'm not Chinese but I'm proud for you... as a huge donnie fan and fan of the series (minus 3 it was dogshit) what an amazingly way to end the series. Cant wait to watch again!
@@AlphaOneProductions They hate promoting movies that go against the "norm" this movie was amazing and so much of the dialogue was true when addressing racism. They hate seeing a non white guy play the lead.
Mismatch Couple was the first movie that Donnie Yen played. At the time I know he will be big if he get to Hollywood one day when he played BLADE 2. He has charisma, funny, vary nature when come to acting. And if course Martial Art. YUP MAN FOREVER
I appreciate the fact that Donnie is open about these films being largely fictional/only loosely based on historical characters. I'm not a huge fan of the Ip Man movies because it was so obvious from the 1st one that they were mostly fictionalized, way more fantasy than reality based, at least Donnie is honest about that.
Seen the first 3 and legacy movie, so now need see 4 when possible. it cool how they show stages of his life and how met Bruce as a young kid. not sure really how much is hollywood and what is real in details, but so far have some movies on dvd and do like what i saw.
I don’t think they know that Danny chan has played Bruce lee loads, the legend of Bruce Lee show for example. He’s literally perfect for the role. Can’t be beaten
You are right. I think he didn't meant it when he said "He felt how it is like to become Bruce Lee" in this movie. I am pretty sure it is when he played Bruce Lee in "The Legend of Bruce Lee" TV series
It’s crazy how Stephan chow Replicated Bruce Lee In kung fu hustle near the last part of the movie, but also It is crazy to know In that same movie The main Villain from the Axe gang Portrays Bruce Lee Later in the years! It shows just how much An influence Bruce Lee really Is on this earth still til this Day 💯. You have documentaries, impersonators, video game Characters Based on him and so on! R.I.P to the Great Legend Bruce Lee 🐉
Master yen is long way from the days when he was doing tv shows for atv, he was a great martial artist even then, but can’t really act though, now a days he is a lot better in acting
Danny Chan has come along way since the Bruce Lee TV series! I’d like to see him in a few more Bruce Lee roles, but I eventually want to see him branch off and do his own thing.
What a great movie and actor donnie yen one of my favorites movies IP Man 1 to 4.. Congrats.. I will miss the IP Man saga movie and especially Donnie Yen as my favorite kung fu martial arts, after bruce Lee..
