I don't really know if that's completely accurate. While almost all current saws are strato, I don't see Echo nor Stihl running fully baffled mufflers, aside from their older designs. Those Swedes must have an EPA-type of organization that makes California look like Carolina. I loath those one piece tin-alloy mufflers that Husqvarna is using.

Need to send a saw to this guy. He seems to really know his stuff. I saw a dial indicator and degree wheel hooked to this engine and now I watch it scream and hit a high note so crispy n clean! He is good! I might send him my 462
That 550xp is hit or miss. Mine is a complete basket case. Three months at the nearest dealer [68 miles away ( three years ago there was 3 in town and at least a dozen within 50 miles)], and they reset, updated, and calibrated the Auto-tune... It still hates to idle warm or cold. After 5 or ten seconds it conks out. Then starts like it's flooded to the gills, blowing smoke and sputtering up high. I'm definitely not alone in this particular experience. Having owned both the 550xp and the 261c, I have to agree with you. The 550 feels better. It seems more nimble. I just wish husky didn't make their bottoms round, as it hates to stay upright even on the flattest of surfaces. Rollie-pollie. I will definitely acknowledge that the MS261c has more power, but pays for it with an almost bloated feel. That, and I find the M-Tronic to be superior to the Auto-tune. Having worked in this area for 25 years, once husky pulled their dealers out and Stihl completely took over, I know of ONE M-Tronic that's fouled up from a bad solenoid. And that's multiple companies running at least a half dozen saws. Everyone I know of that's still running fleets of huskies has had at least one saw go completely wonky, from the 550, 562, & 572. With the complete disregard of essentially the entire east coast, I just don't see them being successful long-term.

Hi Donny iv been following your vids for a long time now and love watching them as have learnt heaps. Was wondering if there was anychance u cud do a video on how to re calibrate m tronic saws. The reason I ask as theres not really much info out there on how to do it for different saws I.e Stihl 362 661 etc then the different versions of each can be different to do. Just an idea I thort I’d put to u seen your the man to talk to bout saws. Cheers Matt

your on jingle pot rite ? I orderd a 562 from you and you did the walkerized mods with duals and mailed it to terrace back in fall of 2012 saw sounds great runs great ct to re-start after its been running breafly
Hello Donny! On the Stihl 044 and 064, do you like to leave the guts in the mufflers? Do you drill them at all, or just run dual ports and leave the guts alone? Thanks!
I have a 372x-torq and I want to put dual 288 caps on as you have done. Do you cap the factory hole on the top or leave it open as well? Thanks from the Kootenays
A little louder, gives it power gain and gives the saw more life due to getting the heat out of the saw. Actually better for it cause it removes the heat from the saw
Sorry to say doesn’t matter what common sense you bring to table about spark arrester screens, because of the increase of large wildfires in California, it’s what can happen to you in court if you are caught without a spark arrester in burn area weather you started a fire or not. Read “Scorched Worth”, millions of dollars of law suits and a kid cutting fire wood caught up in the middle of financial wars between Red Emerson, owner of Sierra Pacific, US. Forest Service, private land owners, Cal Fire etc etc.
