@@gerrytrader4756 I had an RD 350. It was monster. I have an old McCulloch, my dad says it's like holding a yz250 in your hands. I can't disagree with him. The power these little engines make is mind-blowing
This is nothing against Billy Ray and I know this has nothing to do with this video, but I put in a order for a pair of Nicks boots and told them I wanted the big eyelets at the top. They emailed me back and said they would have to do a collaboration boot with Buckin Billy Ray to put those eyelets in there and that his was a one a kind “influencer” pair made just for him. That’s kind of a slap in the face to me. It’s not good enough to be a hard working individual paying hard earned money for “custom” boots but can’t get a simple option like that because I’m not an “Influencer” with a following!
That’s ass, Pasquales in toledo ohio is a small boot repair place and does it for 2$ a eyelet and will have it done in less then 10 min, they are the place, it’s unfortunate they aren’t bigger
You can get the eyelets and setters in a kit from places like hobby lobby. Just do it yourself if they're gonna be prude about it. That's bs and shouldn't even be an issue with a company like theirs.
I see your making the saw and that long bar do the hard yards for you Buckin. Little effort from you, letting the shoulder heal. That’s smart. The BBR pipe from Mark is a beauty, looks great, sounds real nice on your Ironhorse saw.
Thx friend, we got luck with the music I was unloading saws after work one day and heard Travis upstairs on the keys and flew up there and sat on the tubs , thx
@Buckin' Billy Ray Smith right on bucking, i was going to take on a big tree job today, but i just saw her pictures of the situation. It's a huge walnut tree with two huge leaders really close to the house huge crowns. and i didn't feel comfortable taking that one on myself way to many Hazzards
I don’t know if anyone else can hear it. Does it sound like the saw needs a touch more fuel on the low jet? I am only listening through my phone, which probably isn’t anything to go by.
@@BuckinBillyRaySmithahem, thats our pines n softwoods like westcoast made a Florida video on. If our hardwoods were any tougher, they'd rust. Everywhere has their hard stuff so at the end of the day...."its all in the filing" (saw at night here, you WILL see sparks. And it will blow your mind.)
Cant wait my 372 low back should be here friday cant wait also picked up a makita 6401 on sat. Your an inspiration Buckin. BTW that puts my right around 40ish powersaws lol
Makita/dolmar are fantastic saws. Had one a few years ago. I picked up an old McCulloch last week. It's a monster and hardly see them over here I. The UK.
Just wanted to comment to thank you for your videos and tips, always got lower back pain from bucking firewood, but after getting a 30in bar for my saw I did a whole weekends worth of cutting and still haven't felt a bit of pain. Thank you!
@@BuckinBillyRaySmith My filing still needs some work, but I fixed up my dad's old 050AV and it's running beautifully, so I'll have a lot of opportunity to improve my filing skill in the future.
Ngl buckin this one in particular reminds me of a 250 smoker pullin a hole shot 🤌🏾🤌🏾👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾 like your throttle chop in the beginning to raise rpm’s and almost gradually dump the clutch like on the line to when you get on the pipe ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾😶🌫️😶🌫️😶🌫️😶🌫️😶🌫️😶🌫️😶🌫️😶🌫️😮💨😮💨😮💨🤝🏾🤝🏾🤝🏾
i used to be worried about kickback a lot until i got a chain that’s like anti-kickback with them extra rakers. after that i understood why foresters and woodsmen like rapid cut chains better 😑😑😑 they’re so annoying to file, never again. i’d rather use rapid cuts and be more careful after all that
Nobody ever mentions: 3 THINGS--- 1&2 LONGEVITY, FUEL CONSUMPTION! Not per hour, but gpw-only fair way, IE: a test with a tuned saw vs. STOCK saw, MEASURING the amount of wood cut to the amount fuel used to time between re-ring & time before re- builds. FYI, - An 80cc motocross bike can make between 15 HP - 18HP!! maybe more but I'M pretty sure it would not last nearly as long as a STOCK chainsaw engine. Comments??? Please! So naturally, the question is- with the state of the art metallurgy and engineering- where do mods move the bar between engineered longevity VS power? Long term test needed! COMMENTS? AND... 3) . IF: You were to cut 100 rounds in a day, and saved 2seconds per round, thats only 3.3 minutes. If barely 4 seconds each, thats 6 minutes in a DAY. Now- SATISFACTION from running a perfectly suped up saw, CAN'T BE MEASURED!! And holds lots of joy! But all the other stuff.... CAN BE. Please share your thoughts, i wanna know.
That saw should be impressive. Where I am I would be cutting that wood with a 50cc 18" bar. It is soft wood. No real need for a big 80-90cc saw with long bar cutting small wood. Just me. But I love your felling videos. I learn alot from watching those. TY
Ironhorse is the best. Salt of the earth and someday we're gonna get together and do some singing with his wife. Apparently she sings some great harmony.
I’ve watched a bunch of your vids and was wondering if I can ask a dumb question. I’ve been a sawyer for brushing contracts and I’ve started to file my rakers down below the teeth and was wondering if that’s suitable for cutting through hardwood that’s 1” to 12” in diameter. Some of the guys are still faster than me at cutting. We’re always competitive out in the bush and always like to show off our production to our clients. Wish I could learn more faster. Such as rakers and angles of teeth. So forth.
Hey buckin I just picked up a mcculloch pro mac 1000 and the flywheel fins are all broke off do you happen to know anywhere where I could get one I live in elmira ny and I can't find anything online or is there an alternative flywheel from another promac that will fit it
I have a brand new stihl 661c and every time I turn it on it’s left side it acts as if it runs out of gas and dies but will run every other way, cannot figure it out
Buckn i have a 365 special 2000 model," i would love to have 1 of those header pipe" already set up to adjust the low or high side on carb," hit me up in my email
