A lot of Cavs fans say we were better without Mitchell, which is a ridiculous statement. They forget that Sexton (who I love) is a ball stopper. They also forget the lack of playmaking we had when we played 3 seven footers. I also think the Cavs were hasty with giving Darius Garland the keys to the franchise. He is young...I acknowledge that. In the many many games I've watched him play one thing that he does constantly is turn the ball over in late game moments. I can't even count how many times the Cavs lost games because Darius gave the ball to the other team in crunch time. In the playoffs, besides game 2 where he had a great game, he was abysmal. So abysmal that I had never seen an all star PG ever look worse. I don't see the type of dog and competitor in Garland to ever lead the Cavs to a championship. I don't see the ability to take care of the ball that other elite PGs have. To me he doesn't have it. Also, Garland is averaging his lowest assists per game since his rookie season where he was voted worst player in the league. Darius has missed a bunch of games and if he qualified he would be 4th in the entire NBA in turnovers per game. He is also frequently injured and is not very athletic. It's a shame really. I wanted Darius to be great but I have the feeling that he fell on a perfect season to be the leader of a team, but was a medium fish in a small pond. But to me he isn't a 1, 2, or 3 on a championship team.

There is a reason, why none of Cavs players haven't shown improvement offensively since Mitchell joined. It's quite a lot of Mitchell doing his solo thing, while others are just watching. I don't think that trading away from Mitchell to regain most of the assets Cavs paid for him would be major disaster.
