I don’t think customers should pay. Prep and shipping and some of the other stuff they charge. That should be the responsibility of the dealership as a business. To do that for free

The customer pays for all of the dealership's overhead (and profit). It doesn't really matter if they show you the fee or not. There's no such thing as "free" delivery.

I went to a dealer in AZ for a Can Am X3 and the wanted 3000.00 for dealer freight and 2000.00 for assembly/ prep 600 doc fees. Outrageous. Those were the required fees. They had another 3k of fluff fees for tire/battery/GPS crap.

I just went in to look at a brand new 24 Polaris XP 4 seater sport (base model) in Reno NV, they said there was an assembly fee of $600 and a freight shipping fee of $600 which was a carryover from the 2020 supply chain fee. They also had a DMV fee and a documentation fee and of course taxes....all said and done the $19,000 sale price ballooned to an out the door price of $25,000 not including extended warranty which who knows how much that runs? Probably 3 levels to choose from? I wonder if anyone does a cash price? If I bring $20,000 cash greenbacks...do I get the SXS for $20,000?

@SappingtonProOutdoor SO I just payed 500$ for a dealership closest to me is about 1.5-2hrs one way so 3-4hrs both ways, I was told that my out the door price was 9,899.99$ but with the license fee was just 60$ so that's really nothin, but then taxes & crap it's now give or take 12,400.00$ give or take 1-2 hundred bucks, now I feel like I might have backed myself into a corner because of paying the 500$ for them to hold it for me to come pay it off & pick it up, but no truck or trailer, he said he would drive it to me personally for like 380$-460$ which gas to go there & back is maybe 50$ maybe 10$-20$ more after the bike is on the truck or trailer for the extra weight which its wet weight is somewhere in the low 400 pounds, it's a brand new straight from the crate thry put together at the dealership, it's a "2024 Yamaha Raptor 700R SE" but since I already had to pay 500$ I feel like they already got me on the hook cuz if anything changes or more hidden fees & it's just to crazy of a price they could probably say that I don't have to buy it, but idk if they could just say that I won't get that 500$ then??? Which 500$ isn't a ton compared to 12,500$$$ but 500$ is still a nice little chunk of change that I would rather not loose, but it's the only one in Minnesota I could find for sale unless I wanted to fly or drive 2,000 miles to San Francisco, which who knows how much it would cost me to bring it home!?!?! But any advice would be GREATLY APPRECIATED IM DISABLED & I HONESTLY DON'T KNOW IF ILL LIVE PAST 30 SO IDK IF ILL BE ALIVE THIS TIME NEXT YEAR OR NOT, ITS ANYONE'S GUESS AT THIS POINT BUT AT LEAST LIVING PAST MY 20'S IS ALREADY MORE THAN MOST PEOPLE EXPECTED ME TO LIVE... ANYWAY ANY HELP WITH WHAT I MIGHT BE ABLE TO DO OR SAY TO GET A BETTER PRICE BECAUSE $9,899.99 VS $12,400.00 IS A PRETTY BIG DIFFERENT, TELLING ME 9,899.99 PUT THE DOOR BUT HE IS ALREADY TALKING ABOUT 2,500$ MORE, THR LICENSE FEE IS JUST 60$ WHICH IS NOTHING BUT THE TAXES ARE MORE THAN 2,000$????? HOW & WHY??? ANY HELP WOULD REALLY BE A HUGE HELP TO ME, PLEASE & THANK YOU/ & KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK & CHANNEL 100% CHEERS!!!

Wish you guys were in MN. Trying to buy an ATV in this state they charge everything including a vague “commodity surcharge” for $250.

I think dealerships should stop with the manipulation to get you in the door. Just hit me with the out the door fees. It seems very false advertisy, but apparently its legal to do because fine print is a thing here. So i always ask "whats the OTD on this l?" Right off the bat.
