The amount of shots someone can take before actually dying is a LOT. You can be dead with absolutely zero chance of living no matter what happens, and still be running around and shooting/being a threat at least for a time.

Handguns are considered the bare minimum when it comes to firearms. People can take a bunch of hits and still be dangerous. "Pistols put holes in people. Rifles put holes through people. Same here, there’s really no such thing as "safety" it’s all an illusion, no matter where someone lives and no matter what the crime rate is someone could do something anywhere at anytime. Better to have a gun and not need it than need it and not have it. People forget the internet exists so crazy people can learn how to do "horrible things" like building weapons etc, it’s relatively easy. Even in Japan one of the former presidents got killed by someone who made a homemade gun.

Not saying the guy deserved to live, the world's a better place without him, but I think in some situations they rely on their training and try to maintain control. If you can get the suspect to drop the gun, you turn it from a shootout to an arrest. I have not been to a festival or any place where there is a large gathering of people This summer and really for a few years now. I have become over-cautious because of all of the random shootings. I live in Dayton, Ohio a few blocks from the location of a mass shooting that took place in what is called The Oregon District. On August 4, 2019, 24-year-old Connor Betts shot and killed nine people, including his brother, and wounded 17 others near the entrance of the Ned Peppers Bar in the Oregon District in downtown Dayton. Most people here still go about their lives unaffected, but there are a lot of people, like me, who think twice about going out into crowds.

Running towards danger to protect others is basically the definition of heroism. For every cop who runs towards an active shooter, or firefighter who goes into a burning structure looking for injured civilians. It’s not about the result, it’s the willingness to risk one’s own well-being for others. A person that is willing to shoot multiple officers in cold blood unprovoked with an assault rifle has plan to kill a lot of people and most likely an arsenal to back it up. The fact the officer didn’t unload his full clip and then empty his second full clip after tactically reloading is kind of a surprise. As much as I hate seeing cops pull and use their firearms too soon in situations that didn’t warrant it; this is an absolute exception.

I think the Highschool football game shooting was recent bc I’ve heard talk about it but don’t know any details. I just received a strict list of rules for my child’s school for if you go to a football game, they are not allowing many types of bags or purses. They are not allowing any loitering and kids have to stay right with parents. They are not allowing citizens to bring in mace or guns. Which I think is a bad idea. They are going to have security or cops there. It’s just sad.

It's getting to the point where traffic officers need to wear level III possibly level IV body armor and front sling their patrol rifle every time they exit their vehicle. Or at least leave the option up to each individual officer. Considering that alot of cops are ex-military and since the military always have to carry their M4 and wear their body armor and ACH/ECH in possible hostile areas and sometimes for no reason at all. The cops would already be used to it, and little to no adjustment period.

People always question why. Many reasons tbh, but there are a lot of issues that need sorting in America. Mental Illness is a big issue and it seems like there is not a lot of help for them or encouragement to go get help if it is available. Gun Control is also a big issue. Because a lot of people are irresponsible or have bad intentions, and they ruin for those of us who aren’t crazy and don’t have bad intentions. I think money needs to be spent on Education, Mental Health Help, and Gun Control needs to happen in some way. Allowing so many people to be killed, even kids at school, is just wrong.

@@UpYourArsenal Your first sentence didn't make sense to me. Regulated may mean well disciplined, or orderly, in this case. Other places in the constitution like regulating commerce it means laws. I left out the rest because people most often forget this key part of the 2nd. "A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” At the beginning of the video it shows the weapons this guy had. Was he securing a free state? I say no, he was doing the exact opposite. He deprived an American of their life and was attempting to deprive them of their right to assemble peacefully. Some version of this happens every day in our country. The guy in vegas killed around 90 people in one go with these types of weapons and kit to modify them. Sorry, they are not part of a well armed militia securing a free state. Yes, I think we would be wise to limit the number and types of weapons people can have. IE start regulating the militia instead of letting them run amoke. Let me know your solution to this type of crime. Good guys with guns doesn't work. He took out 3 in seconds, killing one. Luckily, the policeman who had time to react had great skill and courage.

@@mattmurphy24 “Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.” ― Benjamin Franklin The militia was every man of military age, and they were to all be armed and trained to fight anyone, including their own government, that would try to take away their liberties. And that guy in Vegas was able to do that because the police refused to act until after he killed himself. There are also far easier ways to kill lots of people, Timothy McVeigh killed 168 people and injured around 700 with a truck and some fertilizer.

@@UpYourArsenal I just have one quick point you made to nit-pick at. When you patriots keep talking about the second amendment and the part where the people protect themselves against a tyrannical gov't, are you talking about the American gov't or some gov't far away in another country trying to invade it. Because last I checked, the gov't's goons CIA, FBI, have been capping the ish out of people making threats. Where are all these patriots that you seen that one day that were in D.C. storming the capitol building? @@mattmurphy24 I can help you with this. 'Regulated' means in good working order, for the context of the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. It is not about rules, organization, or 'discipline' - it is about functionality and expertise. The amendment itself, as you were able to copy and paste, is phrased such that -> "Because" a well regulated militia is necessary, the rights of the *people* shall not be infringed. This explicitly states because that the militia is necessary, all *people* have a right to arms. There is no requirements placed on said militia - the requirement is that the government may not interfere with the rights of people.
