There was absolutely no quality control over the 3DO market, by the way. $3 royalty and the videogame can as bad as one wants it to (unintentionally) be, and then the 3DO is immediately inferior.

Well technically it's not a lie as a the start up screen says you need the cheat for full screen and it work on all 3DO systems. Just shittily

I remember about M2 promises. And kids today thinks failed promises weren't a thing back then. From Goldstar if I remember correctly. It would have destroyed all other versions with it way before 64's.

In my opinion, the 3DO didn't have such bad hardware, and it's understandable that some games weren't as well optimized (this was all new at the time, and the closest you could get to optimizing a 2.5d game would be hiring a mathematician), I'm not saying that the port is good, it was a terrible job (the proof of this is the hack that optimizes the game), I think 3DO could have worked if it cost less than half and had been released 1 year ago before, so that the M2 could arrive in time for what Sony would present.

Well, considering Doom, in general, is celebrating 25 years as a franchise, a lot of people seem to forget that it HAS been that now...maybe not so much the 3DO version, but the Doom FRANCHISE has turned 25 this year.
