The irony is, the music works, but the one who made this, Randy Scott, is very terrible at telling the truth about his DOOM Projects which were claimed to be different from the supposed port we saw released. Turns out Scott can envision a Mona Lisa that isn't music, but when that non-musical related Mona Lisa is expected to converted into reality, Randy Scott fell short of doing so.

That's exactly what it is, check out the development story for this port, it's insane!

Because it was easier and faster to produce covers and paste them into the 3DO port thanks to its CD-ROM rather than translating the MIDI originals thats what they just did. And the world was better because of these covers.

The port was done by one person and they managed to do it in 10 weeks, I'd say that's quite the feat.

I had the same reaction and sadly the same disappointment

Someone said this for At Doom's Gate, and I think it applies here. The originals make you feel like a psychopath with a gun, blasting everything you see without concern or care. Kill all the demons and fire away while doing it! The 3DO versions of this and At Doom's Gate are more concentrated, slowed down, focused. You are the badass. The one that's hunting the demons. You're all powerful... now go shed their blood. I'm not saying you're not free to dislike these versions, but I hope these two different views of how the songs play out help you decide if you like them more than you originally did.

They actually wanted to use the original MIDI files but they didn't have time to so they decided to make new version using live music. They could have brute forced the MIDI version onto the 3DO but that's what the 32X did and we all know how awful that version is.

Comparing 80's metal to anime is an insult to people with taste

As a couple other people have said, this sounds like something you'd hear from Bruce Faulconer's DBZ soundtrack. Except with a less synthesized sound.
