Imagine taking on this Master level with the loadout you start the game with: 100 hp / 50 ap capacity, 16 shells on Shotgun and 60 on Heavy Cannon. Good luck with the Tyrants, not to mention the Archvile, and the Marauder.
The only problem I’ve had with master levels is the lack of music for Most gunfights. The whole bit inside the hell priests fortress was so awkward because the soundtrack was just kinda ambience
9:47 this is actually the first and only time anyone has showcased the Berserk glory kill on Archvile because there are no Archviles in any levels that allow the Berserk cheat or contain the power up.
robomike27 doesn’t matter, you can use a cheat code to have infinite berserk on any level I think. So just go into like Taras nabad using the cheat code
I like how they added fog/smoke, it adds some chalenge and also it makes sense for some places to have it because there is fire and of course there will be smoke.
Back when the CB master level was first showcased in a press conference about the game, they spoke a little about altering the scenery in the master levels a little to make them play a bit different from the normal levels. One idea they toyed around with was to add fog, smoke and debris, I guess this is what they meant. The end result is pretty amazing, hope to see it released soon.
I like how the changes in some of the level design (adding jump pads, powerups) to accommodate the new enemy types and need for enhanced mobility with the encounters you'll be facing
I would like to imagine this is how the game canonically went for the Doomslayer (expect for the parts with the Doom Hunter and Marauder who come later). He's encountered many of these demons before, and why would Hell even bother holding back? They should be throwing everything they have at him, not just Imps and Soldier.
@@yopo654 true lol. Stock just ain't gonna cut it. If you could get some sentinel crystals and weapons like the rocket launcher a bit early, I think it'd be manageable.
They could still incorporate it to the canon, just make marauder encounter on the arc as a unique type of Marauder (different design) and also unique Doom Hunter (that big corpse from cultist base).

It annoys me that the master levels, despite being basically complete, aren't in the game yet, the only way to access them right now is to go into the game files
Maybe because it doesn't make sense the Doom Hunter appears in this level bcoz it eliminates the entire purpose of the Doom Hunter Base level. All the buildup of fighting him as a boss is gone bcoz u already know what he looks like... So I think the roster of enemies in specific arenas needs to be adjusted so it's a bit more canon to the story. Also they could be thinking of creating a New Game+ or even making the master levels the main campaign but on Nightmare. Either way the developers are obviously indecisive on what their vision is. Bcoz honestly....I HATED the main campaign, even on Nightmare it was too easy/boring and too much wasted space.
For what I'd seen, this is ready for prime time, Idk why Id hasn't release it yet. The Exultia ML is already in the game, you just need to do some of the jazz hands routine to get it going and working. We desperately need more content for this wonderful game.
@@fartsmelly1348 What? for the master levels?, they already have the music all mixed up in the game ready to go, they don't need to put new nusic in the game for that. If is for the DLC, that's understandable, but for master levels?, that's baffling at best imho.
While I love the fact that the Exultia and HoE master levels are still playable in some form, I do hope iD is making some changes to them so they're in a really good playable state. Some of the fights felt like they went on too long or didn't have enough enemy variety to them, like the removal of cacos and arachnotrons from that room at 16:20. The prowlers were cool, but it didn't look very "pressuring" so to speak. Really nice gameplay though, thanks for showing this level off!
@@Snavels i want to fight 6 BUFFED marauders.. hugo martin even confirmed that one buffed marauder is worse than 2 normal maruaders.. Imagine 6 BUFFED ONES...
It would make more sense for the first Hell priest to be guarded by such Demons in the master level at the beginning, more than in the actual campaign when only Imps, Possessed Soldiers and Zombies were guarding him.
I tried to play with the gritty or cinematic filter and loot drop brightness dialed down, it's a sore tbh, everything was flat af, couldn't even figured out which is which when you move so fast. The colorful pickup actually benefits the player, at least for me.
@@GamingMafia_id I honestly agree with you these people I feel like just want to net pick things so they can hate it like it doesn’t matter how things look like it’s a good thing so you know everything around you and what you’re picking up I don’t understand how that’s a bad thing I bet these people play on hurt me plenty they don’t understand how important it is to see everything around you they just care about the cinematic side and I honestly don’t care about that stuff ultrakill looks like shit but it’s fun so who cares how a game looks like if you’re having fun just stfu
the levels that need a master level are primarily the first ones hell on earth -exultia- and Doom hunter base after those have been released they could work on the other levels
@@Samurai-es5wh I hope that when they do realese it they also release the classic mode that they were talking about where you start off with the combat shotgun and you have to find your other weapons

I actually think this is canon it never really made sense to me that earlier levels had less demons that the later ones (I mean lore wise I’m not an idiot)
How are people getting these. The only master level Ive ever been able to do is arc complex because that's the only one that's been released on ps4 as of now
They are mods and the cultist base is a per order exclusive or if you want you can buy the rip and tear pack and the super gore nest is free we all have it we can’t mod our consoles so that suck we’re stuck with the official ones that get released every 5 months
Swaggers, what if they make you fight the Marauders in the tight corridors of Final Sin? That would be broken as hell. Which we want from a Master level because we are sadists.
You can’t these are mods. Mods are only available on pc. The cultist base is a pre order bonus or you can buy the rip and tear pack if you want and the super gore nest is free we all have it
@@BeenuZz I think you need to chill, there's only one person working on each level. And they're not just adding monsters, they're adding gameplay changing elements such as jump pads and power ups. You do realize that these also need to go through play testing as well?
@@BeenuZz well I think they could do them in less time I mean if every month they would release one that would be amazing! I honestly don’t see how they need 7 months to do a master level that is just unacceptable. I am still waiting for a new master level I thought after the super gore nest master level they would be more consistent but no. looks like we have to wait for another 5 months
Here people are cheering on release of whole campaign at master level, while I'm sadly looking at sole Arc Complex level at my account or crying that 1st Arachnatron of game kills me at UN difficulty.
This looks too easy I am gonna be disappointed if this is the next master level because super gore nest was hell and I loved that I loved it so much that I did it on ultra nightmare it was really fun but this looks too easy to do on ultra nightmare I am pretty sure they will update it when they release it because this looks too easy
Maykr drone at 12:40 👎 I think they should make some effort to have enemy progression with demons like Doom Hunter, Marauder, Tyrant, Archvile, etc so once we have master levels for all 13 campaign levels then it'll be canon and match up , i.e. Doom Hunter doesn't appear before level 4, Marauder doesn't appear before level 5, etc. Otherwise the arenas will all start to look the same and get boring if it's a remix of endgame enemies right from the very first level.
