The slayer used to be able to speak, but the only thing he ever really said was RIP AND TEAR! Kar En Tuk is simply rip and tear in the night Sentinels language. They're chanting your war cry, cheering you on in your fight against the demons.

After arriving in Argent D'nur, the night Sentinels homeworld, and earning their respect enough to become one of them, They were suddenly invaded by the demons, lead at this time by a giant, near unkillable demon Lord called the Dreadnought. Knowing they couldn't win conventually, one of the Makyrs, the Angel's, Called Samur took the Slayer to a device called the Devinity Machine, which imbued people who use it with insane amounts of strength and speed to create super soldiers. For whatever reason, after he got enhanced into the badass demon killer we now know, the slayer just stopped talking. He apparently could still make sounds, like screams and roars, and he understood people, but it seems whatever the machine did left him unable to talk.
