@I want to suplex Joe Cecot Let me guess the next Doom game: The maykers realized that the only way to build a new Urdak is to destroy the universe(the universe in where Argent D' Nur is included, not counting the other universes from the classic games and Doom 3). As a result, the wraiths from the World Spear awake from their slumber and spread the news to the Argenta(may as well include the humans from Earth). Both the Argenta and the Earth humans realized they need to awake the Doom Slayer to prevent the incoming universal extinction. Though I am not sure what kind of power do the maykers require to be able to destroy a universe. In Avengers Endgame, Thanos(2014) stated that he only needed all the infinity stones to be able to eradicate everything in his universe and create a new one.

I do think the slayer still has some power since the quote at the end "may the blood on your sword never dry" I think it was meant that his existence is to fight off the demons and now that demons can never leave hell he is no longer needed and the "may we never need you again" means if hell ever rises again he can return. or maybe it was a mental thing. His war against hell after maybe millions of years he finally ended it maybe he couldn't believe that he finally won after all he's been through got to him. so for the first time in millions of years he could finally rest.

I kinda feel like that the priests were more saving the slayer, instead of imprisoning him, just because of the quote that was at the end, gives it a feel as if he was dying and to ensure that if they needed him again, he was placed in a sarcophagus for the day they needed him to return, but that's just my speculation.

The ending speech makes me think that in the next DOOM games, you will be the main protagonist, fighting against hell instead of the Doom Slayer, since he is in a slumber and might not be awoken. There's a chance that the main protagonist can be a survivor of hell's invasion or a UAC Guard who's trying to survive in the next DOOM games.

I personally like to think of it as a never-ending loop. You start doom 2016 by getting out of the coffin, and end TAG2 by getting into the coffin. It's a cycle that will last till the next game comes out. As for the lore, when the dark lord said "You have been lied to", he also meant us. The players. One codex literally states that history was rewritten after his fall. All the information we were served in TAG1, was from Urdak's perspective

Once Davoth was revealed as the Dark Lord and to be the original being “whom Doomguy was made from” and had the Slayer mark on his back, I just assumed it was actually the Mark of Davoth which had been applied to Doom Slayer and the origins having been forgotten by Hell and Urdak. Or hidden so as to keep Davoth from being discovered

Honestly, to me Davoth's whole plan felt like "one giant suicide note" (Netflix's Castlevania reference). Like he's basically responsible for giving the Slayer the power of a god, but he knew that the Slayer would come for him, and he just seems to accept his fate, cause he succeeded in exacting his revenge on the Maykrs, the Father/VEGA can no longer have a physical body, etc.

The Maykrs then assumed that the Dark Lord or his people don't deserve immortality which is where it all went screwy. The Creator God was betrayed by his own creations, the Maykrs. They sealed away Hell from the rest of the universe and reduced the Dark Lord to a life sphere.

Something tells me, that the way it works is that There can never not be a dark lord, and when Doomguy killed *God* that power was transferred to him. Which is why he collapsed, not because he lost his power, but because the true power was passed into him. The one the Dark Lord was defeated by, and considered worthy of his power.

Well this doesn't necessarily have to be the end of the doom guy saga. I mean as we know the doom slayer was prophesied to be the destroyer of Urdak, and although it took a hard blow from hell Urdak is very much alive. A sequel could be a fight against the entirety of heaven and his creatures, with new ones created to kill the Slayer. And while the game also says that your fight against hell is over, it never mentioned anything about Heaven and the prophecy still needs to be fulfilled.

The slayer is in a cycle very much like primus and Ultimus from black ops zombies. He fought the same final bosses in this doom franchise as he did in the original, we know he's same guy as the original, he wakes up in a tomb in the beginning and is put in one in the end. Just like black ops zombies was cycle with minor changes in the universe it was in doom is in the same boat.

He may've been closer to the Khan Maykr than we've been led to believe - especially since there's Maykrs/Ancient Gods holographically present in his Sanctum. Another thing of note is that there were significantly more Blood Maykrs than there were in Part 1, which is saying something.

Doom?). The point might be moot though, as a lot of stuff has been retconned so it might be not canon as of now.

I personally found it not bad. Kinda wanted Doomguy/slayer to be reunited with Daisy. The Dark Lord's motivations completely get glossed over and that annoyed me if you're gonna make a villain pure evil don't give him any redeeming qualities or motivations but they did and then ignored it. Of course he's gonna be pissed if he gets trapped due to his own creations
