Oh, you think you're good at DOOM? Have you ever even tried a Ultra Nightmare, no scroll-to-jump, no meathook, no armor, no heavy cannon, no ballista, no damage taken, inverted controls on an electric drum kit, no dashing, no weapon mods, no blood punch, no audio, no chainsaw, lowest possible resolution, lowest possible brightness, all enemies killed, while drunk, hanging from the ceiling the entire time, on current patch, walking everywhere backwards, sub-30 2016 + Eternal speedrun?
I am not THAT good. Sadly they lock gold slayer behind it and SOMETIMES it's unfair... and switch version has a bug that crashes the 2nd master level... for some reason... idk why. Also using bfg with infinite ammo crashes the game at times due to lag... not always but sometimes. I have almost every skin except the nightmare and UN achievement ones and battlemode... and slayer collection and demon slayer and quake slayer skins. I have yet to figure it out. Lol. Some achievements are hard to understand...
@@Xis_sa What drugs are you on? I can do TAG1 almost anytime while I have completed main campaign only once. Also, I beat all Master Levels BEFORE managing to complete Main Campaign. It is stupidly long and tedious.
It took me 32 minutes to realize why you looked and sounded familiar. GDQ. That was literally the most entertaining GDQ run of all time. You and your commenters were awesome. Grats on this accomplishment. Back to watching the rest of the vid.
@@knowone2240now this isn’t to say reboot doesn’t mean decannonizing previous events. Which is often done to retell stories to a new audience or just in a new way. Which isn’t to say both aren’t cannon soft of but that’s a long discussion.
It's a soft reboot, which can very well share the timeline. Kinda like how Sonic Adventure and Sonic Unleashed were reboots. You're thinking of hard reboots like Prey 2017 or DMC: Devil May Cry.
Hot damn this is impressive! It's honestly admirable how informative this video is and how adept you are at these games! I for one don't have the mental fortitude and resilience to attempt something like this lol, good job!
Yo dude! Thought the name looked familiar. Saw your "not firing a gun" run. Good stuff Thanks! The main thing I wanted to do was inform about game mechanics/the run, so glad that got through.
"And you can light enemies on fire, with a flamethrower, to get back armor: A concept, that noone would ever understand, but it sounds VERY funny" I don't know if someone said this before but, charring and brisking the meat of the demons to make it harder and then putting that charred flesh on you sounds like armor to me LOL Very good runs my guy, and great comentary!
I've rebeaten the whole Doom Eternal a few weeks ago and also first time beaten TAGs. I'm not a speedrunner, but most of the time I played I used the strategy "meathook, ssg shot, punch, ballista shot, punch, repeat". This was just my muscle memory and I thought I was punching enemies to stagger them with blood punch. But now I see that I was actually doing a speedrun glitch without myself even noticing! I guess watching a lot of speedruns isn't the best thing to do...
I did the same but for ac 6 I used a meta build before I even knew it was that op it still has weaknesses so skill goes into it as well but it's fun to discover methods of speed running or cheesing fights without looking them up
Dude! How does this not have more views?! As a Doom player myself, not only are your gaming skills absolutely amazing, but the jokes land solid and the editing is amazing too! Also, the music choices are really good. Keep going man, you're going places!! ❤❤
I also had a good laugh when I saw this segment. I knew about the 3rd way because I’ve done it myself, but didn’t know you can block the buffed marauder’s spawn in the blood swamps level.
First of all, incredible job on the run! Second of all, I LOVED the editing it was really entertaining and inspirational! Third, thanks for the shout out ❤
Wow. I don’t know if I’ve seen anything more impressive in the world of video games ever. End of an era, congratulations. p.s. I’m grateful I stayed until the very end for that heartwarming message
@@Raitro_ True, but I’ve never seen anything like this in any game I’ve ever played before/have enough knowledge about to understand the feat. Either way this is still insane, congrats 🎊
I can't help but think of Comic Book Guy on The Simpsons rambling on about something then sees the French nuclear missle headed towards him and he says "I've wasted my life". Impressive feat and video though.
nice job dude 2016 on ultra-nightmare with pistol/melee only took me like 16 hours. learning how to melee fight and dodge every demon animation in the entire game was actually a lot of fun
Thank you for the knowledge that is imparted in the video. It is surely going to make my replay through Doom (2016) a little bit easier (no, no... Not Nightmare difficulty, but practice for Doom Eternal, and a certain achievement). And, Doom Eternal stuff = a very large bonus. I have not played it before.
The first time I ever clipped out of bounds in 2016 was on the foundry map, when you go to the secret classic doom room on the left side there is a soldier that spawns in a little hallway. I staggered him and glory killed hime half way in the wall, when it finished I did a little shimmy getting ready to turn around but then I fell in to the void.
I remember not enjoying 2016 as much as Eternal, I really struggled with later encounters and couldn't figure out why, but then 10 minutes into the video you started talking about runes. I somehow played through the entirety of Doom 2016 without touching the rune screen. I don't know how but I have no memory of ever seeing it and when I loaded up an old save to check, all of my runes were pretty much default with any masteries being purely accidental. I feel monumentally stupid but I guess I have a reason to play it again?
1:04:58 Otters mentioned! Whether it was my influence on the community or not, I rest easy knowing the good word has been spread! Great video tho. Snappy, entertaining editing and scripting all around!
Yooooo Furb. Was a big fan of your streams back in the day. Whether it was the holt you made or the one in the game, both have made an impact on this 'tuber. So fret not!
If anyone is wondering what the music during Titan's Realm and Necropolis at 27:00 is, it's Geoffrey Day - Hunting With Style. Took me a bit to fish it out the list.
I think the reason we need to go to the centre of Mars to get to sentinel prime is because the place we are going too is protected by a barrier which doesn't allow a portal to open in it
Per your intro and to tie into this specific challenge run a little better, deathless Souls runs were initially what Souls challenge runners considered the peak. It took Happy Hob a long, long time mapping out Dark Souls to no hit it; nobody thought it could be done before then, from what I remember (over a year of daily full time streams.) Dark Souls 2 also had some hidden rings for beating the game deathless and without using any checkpoints/bonfires. Some of the challenge rooms in Eternal are nuts and well beyond anything a Souls game will require in mechanical skill, so props for getting it done.
Great video and congrats on the run. Sub 6 hours is unfathomable by my standards haha! Believe it or not I somehow completed this back in 2022 (not 100% collectibles but I did all combat encounters). I think my time was over 10 hours, obviously not much of a speedrunner. I was thinking of even trying to entire Doom anthology with no deaths all on nightmare/UN but I'm real bad at the old games. Need a lot more practice. Maybe you would be better suited to such a challenge? Especially because you can beat the games so quickly.
To put into perspective how big of a difficulty spike the DLCs bring, I played the Base Game on Nightmare and did pretty well, having 29 One Ups at the end of the Icon of Sin. I died multiple times on every single level in the DLC. Still makes me shudder.
you should do doom 1-tag 2 (including plutonia and tnt) on each games hardest difficulty with 100% (or as close as you can get since some maps have broken secrets)
Eh, if I ever did something like that, I would only do the mainline doom games. And it would be something akin to just UNing the whole franchise back-to-back, not 100%ing it, as I'm sure thats like a... 20 hourish run minimum? Not a fan of the classic DOOMs, but I plan on revisiting them sometime soon to see if my opinion has changed.
I beat Eternal on Ultra Violence before the first part of Ancient Gods came out. Excited for what was ahead of me, I said to myself that maybe I should start the DLC on UV as well. I'm not exaggerating, but when I was done with the Slayer Gate in the Holt, I had to take a long shower just to rethink my life choices.
At first i thought he was gonna go over his ultra nightmare runs of each campaign, then I realized that the run is ALL OF THE CAMPAIGNS BACK TO BACK… insanity
Well, yeah, why would Exultia have the same security as Sentinel Prime? It's a ruin while SP is the capital the Hell Priest ran to specifically to hide from Slayer Kun. Reminds me of when the Nostalgia Critic has his foolish nitpicks instead of properly thinking.
Hey @Raitro, if you're up for it, you should turn up this challenge and do all DOOM games you have in this type of video, at the highest difficulties for each game
have you/would you consider a compilation of failed attempts? i think that would be quite funny and interesting. Props to you for doing this run and this video as well, modern DOOM speedrunning is awesome
If I did a compilation of failed atttempts, It would be primarily the first 6 levels of D2016 lmao I thought of integrating alot highlights into troubling sections (when I talked about the,), but looking through the footage proved too much effort for too little of a return
Question, how come speedrunners don't use railboosts in Eternal? At first I thought it was patched out but the other day I accidentally railboosted in UAC Atlantica. Are there just not any useful railboost spots in Eternal?
none are too useful in 100% i'm afraid. Also, DOOM Eternal is so broken that alot of runners tend to abide by a Restricted ruleset that bans any major glitch like railboosting Any% in TAG1 uses railboosts, and one of the first boosts in DOOM Eternal any% is a railboost (the one that skips to the end of Hell on Earth). Other than that, it's very niche
Man a 100 percent UN in all of these is crazy. I beat them all on UN and all encounters but not in a row and still didnt get all the secrets. Just crazy to do it all in a row
Doom 2016 is a sequel to doom 64 the real doom 3. Doom guy in eternal in flash backs speaks. Those lines are from the ridiculous doom comic from the 90s. the codex's even say hes the same guy from the original 1993 game.
The doomguy challange that i just made up: a UN run from Doom1, 2, final, 64, 2016 and eternal. the chronology of main timeline doom. if you die start from doom1. If you really want to be Slayer hitless...is that even possible?
Gladiator...... died probably 60 times on nightmare. When I finally beat him however. I think I took 10 damage the entire encounter. What a world we live in.
As a ultrakill Player 8:00 we call this shotgun swapping but it is way faster and both shits are a shotgun saying if you don't use shotgun then super shotgun
