doom guy's wife and kid were also killed by the demons. you can find a picture of his family on the floor of his room in the fortress of doom in doom eternal.
Doom Slayer is an S tier hero. My favorite hero type is 'Agree to help, Refuse to give up.' But Slayer is just beyond that. He doesn't need prep time, or allies or anything. Drop him onto a planet where all of the billions of inhabitants want to kill him and he just wins XD
Plus there’s the all that doom guy family being killed that happened confirmed by Hugo Martin and backed up by the fact that in eternal when the khan maykr talks to what he has lost she speak plural
I didn’t know spider mastermind was a human woman before 2016. In fact, I originally thought that the UAC found Doomguy after Doom 64 before the Sentinels did.
Listening to the recordings of demons talking about the Doom Slayer/Doomguy is like listening to the recordings of Space Pirates talking about Samus Aran(The Hunter).
Personally I like to call Doom Guy/Slayer Stanley Blazkowicz, in reference to his character in the doom rpg. Also because the name is hilarious. The doom slayer, the man who butchered hell for billions of years… is named Stan.
Correction, there's a picture in game that seems to be the Slayers family so it makes far more sense that he lost his shit when they died. Between that and his time as king I'd say he isn't nearly as anti-social as he was before the new lore
Characters I'd love for an analysis: Gordon Freeman, V1, Dragonborn, Terrarian, basically the silent protagonists are just interesting to analyse thanks to their characterization beyond the player is seen in the tasks they undertake and how the world changes thanks to them
Argent D’Nur wasn’t actually where doomguy landed after being ejected from hell, it was Sentinel Prime, the Night Sentinel homeworld, Argent D’Nur was a separate world that had succumbed to the hell invasion due to the betrayer and is now apart of hell, I think it was sentinel/wraith controlled territory before the invasion Also the 2016/eternal timeline is technically separate from the doom1/2/64 timeline, as hell almost acts as a dimensional hub where multiple dimensions exist outside of hell, but only one hell exists, so the timeline that he entered hell from was not the one he was ejected into
You’ve got your info mixed up. Argent D’Nur is the Planet of the Sentinels that was swallowed up by Hell after a battle that Doomguy was in. The Sentinels only get introduced to Demons after meeting Doomguy. Sentinel Prime is never stated to be a city or planet but different sources will say different things. On one hand it’s not in Hell like Argent D’Nur so it could be a planet on the other Doomguy is seen fighting there after landing in Argent D’Nur so it makes sense that it’s a city. Basically we don’t know at the moment how it works. What is directly stated is that Doomguy lands on Argent D’Nur. Your second point is a possibility but not confirmed. We know he’s reliving the same events but there’s no evidence either way whether it’s a different universe with similar events or if he went back in time. Either is possible. I personally find time travel more likely since he lived for several billion years and only after that did the invasion of Earth begin but you’re right either or even both are possible. He could have gone back in time in a different universe.
@@rougarabid specifically on the timeline thing, I feel it’s a bit more internally consistent to have the original timeline and the reboot timeline separate, as it’s never really been shown that portals have a temporal effect, just a spatial effect, it’s also kinda weird for the UAC to be so much more technologically advanced to the point of capturing the cyberdemon, and having the weapon mod system and elite guards, tho a lot of that can be attributed to Samuel Hayden and argent energy. Plus time travel can be a bit messy, leading to grandfather paradox type situations, or where there are potentially two doomguys running around and the demons definitely don’t want that. After a bit more reading, I think sentinel prime is the capital city of argent d’nur, or at least is a city on the planet, that’s is occupied by the faction of sentinels that sided with the makyrs, which is possibly why it isn’t as invaded as the rest of the planet or only sections of argent was actually annexed by hell in the first place, not sure
Wish you had more awareness of the plot from the old games. The man has done multiple heroic sacrifices over the course of the series, calling him uncaring misses the mark.
Never said he didn’t care. Even said he willingly decided to stay in Hell permanently to prevent future invasions of Earth. No clue where you got that I said he didn’t care. I am well aware of the Doom lore past and present. If you disagree with me tell me what I’m wrong about and why.
@@rougarabid You didn't explain in more detail what Doom II was about as seen in the text that appears every couple of levels. There is also Episode 4 of Ultimate Doom but that's relatively minor.
There’s a lot I didn’t go into detail on. It’s a 30 minute video. Not going into detail on every piece of lore across a 30 year old series doesn’t mean what I said was wrong in my video. Where was I wrong and how?
