The fact he never said a damn thing after he became a part of the Night Sentinels, and the only thing he says after was "no" to the Dark Lord proves he only speaks when he wants to. He wasn't a mute after all.
@@salamander8055 that flashback was just when the night sentinels found him outside their fortress. And by the time he got a role there, made part of them and became super powerful thanks to the Seraphim. After that time he turns silent.
Reason why he said "no" because its out of his response to his question. Which obviously made sense. Dark Lord asked if he has something to say to his creator, Doom Slayer said "no". Therefore, he really has nothing to say to him, and I believe he intends to get him too.
Samuel:You can't just shoot a hole into the surface of Mars!! Doomguy (Muted): I understand its a bold move on my part however we do not posses the time to hold on to other options so I am sorry to say I must shoot a hole into the surface of mars.
Samur: "We must hurry, the longer the Icon of Sin remains on Earth, the stronger it will become" Doom Slayer: "I FUCKIN' KNOW, I'M MOVING AS FAST AS I CAN ARGGGGGHHHHHH!"
i do kinda like how as a last main reasoning to tell people how he is the OG slayer of demons, they dont put his name as doom slayer, they put it as Doomguy
@@merimkastrat5846 which honestly im glad for, they ensured doomguy started his war with the demons, he would be the one to finish the war with the demons
@@captainhuntank7963 Tbh, he didnt started it. They did since Doom 1. Which is crazy, it ALL started because he punched his commanding officer who gave the order to kill civilians. Then he was sent to Mars, and when contacting from another base, that base is under attack. Doomguy and his squad went to investigate. He was ordered to stay and secure the perimeter. All he heard through radios were shouting, screaming, calls on commands, etc. Then later, it became silent. So Doomguy went to check. Thats when Doom 1 starts.
@@merimkastrat5846 I was more referring to when he closed the portal to hell, ensuring no demons got to earth, he basically entered into a war with the demons to protect earth
@@captainhuntank7963 Ahh yes, the Doom 64 ending. Even though that was suppose to prevent them from entering Earth ever again. Yet somehow they found their way to Earth again. Kinda sucks if you think about it, since Doomguy meant to seal himself in Hell to fight for eternity to stop them from reaching Earth. Which that didnt work out well in the end.
It's kind of sad how after everything Slayer has done, even defeating the Dark Lord, he still gets screwed over. He will never stop fighting, never live a normal life. He literally feels like a tool in this, once the job is done he gets tossed back into the box. I think maybe the father encased him because he was worried he might become the new Dark Lord? Idk, but he and Kratos sure have a lot in common: Betrayal
@Dexter clarence Fongkot hell isn’t gone this all started because some stupid scientists broke the seal urdak placed on hell it’s likely that hell will be back but until they can find a way to return the slayer to his former power they have no need for him so just they seal him away in a place that only he can reach
When I was this early Daisy was still alive. All jokes aside, I hope this isn't the last we see of Doom but if is, it went out like how it first started, with a bang. Also Eternal is one of if not the best Doom games. Yes, no, maybe?
It's not the last of Doom as doom guy technically ain't dead. This is the equivalent of when Master Chief in Halo 3 just went into cryosleep till Halo 4 when he was needed.
@@yo-no9879 It's defiantly not the last DOOM game. Though it might be the last one with the Slayer. Since this whole series so far has been called the "Slayer-Saga" So if this is the end of it (as Hugo said) then, possibly the Slayer is no longer the Protagonist.
What will happen now? I'm hoping that the Doom Slayer is still alive since we got a shot from his perspective. But if he truly is gone, then that was one badass ending.
All this kinda lines up to a doom 1 remake Theres a chance that the doom slayer lost his powers and got dazed, then fell. Demons can only invade WHEN a portal is open to their dimension. In the original DOOM, the demons invaded because the UAC opened a portal to their dimension So, the father could just call and put the powerless doomguy in the middle of that invasion if the UAC opens a portal to hell again.
They need to make a spin-off like ODST for DLC. You fight as a grunt in a team. No powers or anything. Fight your way through and do what you can. You interact with Doomslayer at some point for a mission.
Great idea on paper, but you gotta remember that soldiers in this universe got SLAUGHTERED. The speed at which we play as the Slayer in game is how fast he is in lore, and as you can see, even lower demons like Imps are fast enough to react to where the Slayer is going. That’s not even mentioning the many many many other demonic forces that plague Earth, of which not even giant human mechs could beat back. Also, a standard soldier doesn’t have enough strength to fire half the weapons in the Slayer’s arsenal, and every weapon in that arsenal was essential to moving forward, and every bullet counted. Speaking of, standard soldiers need to find ammo, and can’t chainsword ammo into existence.
If the Slayer is actually dead... then this is closure for him, and he knows that he will no longer have anything to stress about, and fully return to all of his loved ones. Sort of melancholy, but... in a good way.
Dark Lord: Tell me... Have you nothing to say to your creator... before you strike him down? Doom Slayer: For Daisy Dark Lord: That was just a fu*king rabbit
@@xerorgg well he gets his strength from being pissed off,and I would be mad if someone locked me up in a sarcophagus in hell with the intention of keeping me there eternally,so maybe in the sequel will be killing the father and he's servants considering, that they're the biggest pussies in the Doom universe at this point
@@vukantic1978 his power comes from anger yes, but was enchanted by the divinity machine, so if that power is lost, he's no longer immortal nor having the ability to absorb demonic essence?
You know this may be just me thinking but I really hope in the next game when he does wake up we can use parts of the Dark Lord's armor to upgrade our own armor
Well he did kill his creator so anything the dark lord made will be killed but doom guy is special and when he is needed again they will let him out of the coffin
I mean, the ending was good, but I’m just confused by the fact that the Dark Lord was God instead of Satan. I have another (happier) ending that I thought up: In this ending the Dark Lord really is Satan. The Doomguy kills him just like we see. But after that, the battlefield is encompassed with brilliant light, and from the sky descends a massive being of pure light. His face is unable to be seen, but it should be obvious who it is: God (the real one). He looks at the Slayer and talks to him: God: “Poor child, you are tired. Weary. You wish to find peace.” The Doomguy nods. God: “More importantly, you wish to go home, to your real home, your real world, and be with her again.” The Doomguy is silent. A close up of his eye shows the sadness and weariness he feels. DG: “. . . Yes.” God then opens a yellow portal. God: “Then you shall return home, Blazkowicz the Third. Go and be at peace. Your work here is done, and the evil is now defeated.” The Doomguy looks around at the battlefield, the remaining sentinels cheering in victory. The betrayer looks up at the Doomguy, then tells the group of sentinels around him to salute, knowing their comrade is about to leave them. The Doomguy looks at God and smiles, nodding in thanks, then picks up his helmet and walks through the portal. When he arrives, he is in an older house, back in his original home in his original universe (dimension 7, where the original doom and Wolfenstein games took place). He is looking through his home, overlooking all his medals for his military service back when he was with the marines (and even a picture of Dimension 7 BJ Blazkowicz), but then he stops, and his face turns to surprise and shock almost. There in front of him, is his pet bunny, Daisy, completely reincarnated through God’s hand. The Doomguy is paralyzed, and he hears the Father’s voice whisper in the back of his head: Father: “Rejoice, for through Him life is given” Then it shows a shot to the side, and as Daisy bounces towards him, the Doomguy drops his helmet, falls to his knees, and embraces his long-lost friend, happily reunited. The End. (Idk I just thought this would be a beautiful ending that the DG deserved. He’s been through so much conflict, he deserves to be back home with Daisy, and it made more sense than the Dark Lord is actually God twist)
I love the fact that all the bigger people in the story try and fix problems in a more legitimate way, While doomguys solution in punch it until it breaks
The next DOOM should be a survival horror where you play as a normal human trying to wake the Slayer to stop the next invasion. Then you finish the game as him in all his overpowered glory.
The game was released just today and I'm still digesting everything I saw, but in my initial analisis...damn this ending is fucking awesome man! From all the possible outcomes for the statement "The slayer's battle against hell ends here" occur and ID keep its word, I really cannot think of a better way than this. I was really, really worried about a huge deception in a game that have been getting almost everything right until now, considering their similarities it wasn't hard to think about both dying at the same time as possible income, like if one was part of another(which besides the pass out seem to not be the case). Or even if he defeated Davoth and everybody went home to live a happy life, where's the slayer's home? He would get back to the fortress of doom? Live on earth? And with that obviously what I meant to say is: The slayer is basically fighting non stop for the millenia, if he suddently stop fighting because there isn't hell anymore, and someday in the future the slayer is needed again for another reason, isn't there a possibility of we have instead of the big badass slayer another "fat Thor", or an grey haired oldman?(Even though he theoretically is immortal so wouldn't age) or even if he's the same big guy he's now, would his biggest power, his rage, be the same? Or the easy life would soft our doomguy that know nothing but inflicting despair in his enemies? Now with he sealed in a coffin, besides making a pretty fucking epic conection with DOOM 2016 "reseting the loop", we know if he wake up in the future and another Samuel appear to say the bad news, he will be completely undeniably pissed, ready to rip and tear the hell out of the next enemy.
There was a dialogue in the middle of the fight when the Dark Lord talked with the Father. The Father said he rose when the Dark Lord fell. I am confused now. Is the Dark Lord actually Lucifer ? Or was he God ? Who is the Father then ? I would be grateful if someone could explain.
tbh i don't think doomslayer died, he probably got trapped in the sarcophagus like doom 2016, he will be revived again when the universe will need him such as when the balance of the universe will be ruined he will probably jump out of that sarcophagus just like 2016
so darklord created the father and doom guy and after his death doom guy dies so what about those maykrs still alive , father told that he was created by the darklord and the maykr race so how those maykrs survived at the end. I DONT GET IT!!!!!
Doom guy is not dead he's still alive its just they don't need him anymore and will wake him or release him when they need him again you can clearly see his prospective when he's laying in the coffin so like I said until they need him again hes staying in there
@@utkarshkumar1106 because I don't think the dark lord made them or created them the father is still character so maybe he did since the dark lord made him and doom guy so the father must still be alive and that will most likely what the next game will be about if there is a next game
There he goes, one of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
Why would they get rid of the dark lord so early? It sucks he died so early but I believe the developers have bigger plans for the doomslayer. Maybe they want to introduce bigger and badder characters in the future or something. Lots of people think doom is over but it’s not true. Doomslayer will be back in some way because hell isn’t defeated yet. Also Doom is eternal.
@@theharvinator7935 on the codex in 2016 it said the slayer sought to end the dark realm not just the dark lord. If Doomslayer didn’t get put in his tomb he would’ve probably went back to hell and try to kill all remaining demons.
It's not a loop. 2016 isn't some sequel as some of you people are hopelessly theorising. Doomguy will return to his slumber, and he'll be awoken again when he is needed
@@phantomwraith1984 Yes, he just gonna be without powers next time. There is no loop... unless the slayer will travel to the Another universe where the UAC bases on Phobos and Deimos fucked up like the oryginal ones from the slayer original world
Well, earlier in the fight, the Dark Lord had the Father tell him (The Slayer) that the Dark Lord was the TRUE Father, and the Father we've been working with was the one who betrayed Davoth. Thus, Davoth swore vengeance on The New Father who usurped his ability to create realms, life,, etc. As a part of that revenge, the Dark Lord managed to convince Samur/Samuel Hayden, through telepathic voice, to create Doom Slayer out of Doom Guy. (as a clone, of sorts?) using some of the Dark Lord's power. Thus, when DOOM GUY killed Davoth, he basically killed himself, all of demon kind, etc. Hope this helps a little. Also, the DOOM Slayer destroyed the Father's sphere, so he technically did help Davoth with his vengeanced, even if he doesn't know it.
