Nice that you actually mention the sturdyness of the frame, I only have ONE spot for a doorway pullup bar and it`s not exactly a thick concrete wall eitherlol
You don’t need the bracket. I use mine everyday and it doesn’t fit my doorway 100%. I’m 6’ tall, so I’m no tiny Tina. You hear the frame complain as you say only initially as your full weight hits it. I quite like it.
Put a piece of pool noodle over the horizontal round bar that touches the door frame. That should change the angle of the horizontal rectangle bar that goes above the door frame that needs to hook onto the brackets. Be sure they are screwed to actual studs.
Great review, man! I bought one as well. I hope I can use it without installing the J brackets on the wall. I hope I can use this pull up bar on a daily basis!
Just looking at the same one. Australian doorways outside timber to outside timber is about 13cm. But the bracket sits on top of the frame on one side of the door loosing about 1.8cm so now down to 11.2cm. Im thinking maybe fold 2 towels into compact squares and stuff them in between the bracket and timber to add padding and close the gap.
So this is totally no screws at all? Did you use it much? How about the stress on the door frame? Does it leave "marks" where it was installed? I need some pull up bar for rented apartment and prefer not to drill the walls.
One of the most atrocious things I’ve ever had the displeasure of assembling. The quality has gone down a lot in the last 5 years. I’m literally about to sign up for an MMA gym due to all the pent up frustration. Nice video though mate!
Total Stand hey man can you please do a video on how to assemble this pull up bar if it's not to much to ask man I just got mine and either I'm putting it the wrong way or I'm missing 2 longer screws I don't know man.
Thanks but I already returned it because I was missing screws and lot of the things I had to use like I had 7 outta 10 of the screws stuff like that still thanks.
Kudos for the Video! Forgive me for butting in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you considered - Penlizabethify Dignified Preference (do a search on google)? It is an awesome one off product for lasting longer in bed minus the hard work. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my cousin at last got cool results with it.
I have 8 normal long screws with a phillips tip and 2 with the head smooth but the stupid instructions tell you to use 10 of the screws that I only got 8 of.
thanks bro for the video..goddam local seller misadvertised it as the branded iron gym but it turned up as medicarn door gym..hope it is sturdy enough.
If you don't regularly use a pull-up bar, so for the first few weeks, you'll go through blisters and hand soreness. After a while though, you will develop grip strength and it will be fairly comfortable hanging on to a bar.
I bought it and put it together myself, I'm not gonna build something like this if I can get it for $30 dude. Unless you mean putting it together, which wouldnt be impressive
Thank you. The width of my door frame is around 32 inches. Not sure if beach towels would help, but I wouldn't recommend doing any upside-down exercises unless you bolt it in permanently.
Not really designed for that. It's only designed to hang off the door frame. The brackets only there to cover extra safety so they protect themselves, insurance wise. Unless you weigh a lot the chances are you wont need the brackets anyway.
I bought nearly the same thing but the handles are red. It is not sturdy but a wiggly piece of shit. The bolts dont screw in tight enough no matter what i try.
The reason I think pullup bars are useless, because in a real life situation or in a parkour match, you wont have those bars to do pullups or muscle ups,you gotta do it in an uneven surface,so lets just find a ledge we can grab and nstart cranking them out, chinups are not challenging and behind the neck pullups fuck up your shoulders so lets just do pullups in an effective way.
TheAlexmercer360 A guy who exercises on a pull up bar will do better on those uneven surfaces and ledges than a guy who does nothing at all. If climbing isnt your thing, it's still great for strength and aesthetics in general.
+TheAlexmercer360 It works muscle groups. Even if you don't do pullups outside of a workout, It's still making those muscles stronger. That being said, If I had a convenient board or I-beam in my ceiling to grab, I would use that instead.
Colin Marner u wll alws fnd places to hang from where both the surfaces you keep ur hands on are on similar horizontal plane, so it is in no way inferior to pull up bars, you will build same amount of strength and muscle, maybe more in your firearms because your grip has to get stronger.
TheAlexmercer360 It's cold outside and inside all I have is a load-bearing 2x4 that I don't like pulling on. The ridge on top of door frames is too thin for my fingers to hold. My goals in martial arts are also quite different from your goals in parkour.
This thing is a piece of shit here is my story. I almost got killed by this thing, but since i fell normally i just injured my rotater cuff after I fell from that stupid thing cause it fell off the door knob. I was upside down doing upside down pull-ups (they are perfectly safe if you do it on a drill bar ive been doing them for a while) (Google it). When I plummeted head first on the hard wood floor. Luckily I landed on my shoulder and rolled with the fall but fucked up my cuff. I now started working out again and muscle memory did it's job but i couldn't do anything revolving around my rotater cuff for 6 months. You can't undue 10 plus years of hard work so now im back in great shape muscle memory did its job. I got an appointment with a pro sports doc this month too. It still hurts but not nearly as much. I can lift and bench but not the same but at least i can do it. But yea months of not working out did not change my body but it did change my mental frame. I get endorphin's working out and love it and mostly while benching. Well that's my story. I weigh 170 lbs BTW pics of me are in my Google plus profile. This shit is dangerous, the bar does COME OFF easier then others.
XXTOBAD4HELLXX These guys are making fun of me for almost losing my life, how is that fucking funny? I used the bar for about a year until it came off i am only 185 lbs. I am not that big. If i would have fallen on my neck i would have either died or been a paraplegic. My left arm still hurts to this day (2 years ago this happened). So to tell me im an idiot for doing it etc is so counterproductive. I have no anger issues just funny how people always talk down to me online calling me a pussy etc. I been boxing and working out since i was 16. I now work with computers and do seo/web design and run figthtsource.org and other websites. I never start shit with anyone i was just stating my experience with this thing and got attacked right away. This is a waste of my time im done with this youtube bs.
Boris Lebediinskiy If you didn't mute this post already, hear this: I'm sorry you hurt yourself, but it was definitely user error, since there is no way something like this can handle fancy exercises. I can tell just by looking at it.
How long is it from one end to the other? I have a door wall that's at the end of the wall, so I'm not sure if the full length of the bar will fit in that door way.
