Steve Allan asks are you blonde? Miss Day responds yes .He asks are you blue eyed? again Miss Day responds with a yes then Mr.Allan asks "What are you doing after the show?"CLASSIC!!!!!
@@mike62mcmanus Anyone that devoted her life to animals and their protection, stood by Rock Hudson during his illness, work with AIDs prevention, and working to finding a cure. The woman was a Saint!
@@mike62mcmanus Here, here Mike. I totally agree. Everyone of the problems we face as human beings would be solved if there was about half of our numbers. Our climate, the lost of species, the oceans, clean water and air, everything spins around our numbers. If more people had a heart as big as Ms Day's the world would be a much nicer place.

Doris looks like she is having fun on this show. Rest in Peace dear Lady. Thanks for the fun and laughter you shared on your musicals. One gifted Artist. 🙂
How could you be absolutely devastated and broken hearted. The lady was 97-years old for g-d sake. Did you expect her to live forever? Would you still be devastated if she was 107 or 117 years old when she died. People get old and they die. Get over it. Now, if she died when she was say 37 to 67, yea then I could understand you being DEVASTATED. Kinda sounds like you expected Doris Day to live forever. Back when George Burns died at 100, I don't recall anyone stating that they were DEVASTATED.
@Aritosthenes I agree, but the word devastated is a very strong word usually reserved for extreme situations or a very untimely passing such as John Lennon, John F. Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy, Patsy Cline, Elvis, Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin or George Harrison just to name a few. But not when the person is 97-years old. A person passing at that advanced age is to be expected.
As am I! So sad, a fan from long ago & who couldn’t love her? She was clean & an animal lover, I highly approve! She’s generous & real, so unusual in Hollywood! I will miss knowing she is no longer in our world, but her popularity will live forever! When I hear 3 Coins in a Fountain, I always think of her!❤️
This is from back in the days when people demanded their celebrities have talent and intellect. Those days are gone. We now glorify ignorance and excess.
Doris Day was such a nice lady, a good example and I somehow thought she would be around forever, but alas, we all die sooner or later. What a remarkable talent she was, a good actress, a great singer, and a good friend to so many. I never heard of her EVER saying anything bad about anyone -- she always refused to say anything bad about anyone, no matter what. Something we could all learn from that! If you wish to remember this wonderful lady, please donate to her Doris Day Foundation for Animals. RIP, Doris, we will miss you.
She grew up in Cincinnati, was a marvelous actress, dedicated many years to a cavalcade of amazing animals. She also had a soft alto voice, with sensationalist phrasing of words and music. A once in a lifetime experience: Miss DORIS DAY!
She just had her 97 birthday on April 3, 2019 . Blessing to a very talented woman who brought so much joy to so many in her countless movies, songs and tv show .
Regretfully Miss Doris Day Passed away Monday May 13, 2019 at age 97 from a severe and sudden bout of Pneumonia at her home in Carmel CA. Rest In Peace Miss day. Thank-you for the music, movies, television work and especially your work in Animal rescue.
she had just found out on her last birthday that she was 2 years older than she thought she was when someone presented her with a copy of her original birth certificate. My mother nearly the same age would change her date of birth when calling to have a birth certificate made since often no record was made depending on the place of your birth. Finally they had the means to keep better records and she had to stop at 3. My mom dyed her red hair blonde and was often mistaken for Ms. Doris Day. She loved it. People asked my dad to sign autographs thinking he was Tont Curtis. If they hadn't had so many children, they might ve had a bit of fun being mistaken for those two.
I get so nostalgic watching anything with Doris in it. Such lovely, peaceful, graceful, polite society portrayed in her movies. I may have been born in the wrong era. If only singers sang like that now and movie stories touched our hearts like hers.
As others have noted here, Doris had an inner light that glowed and radiated out from her. You can't manufacture or fake that and that's what people responded to on a soul level. I remember an interview with Tony Randall who co-starred with her in some of her movies where he said, "Doris just didn't know how good she was." I think that says it all. She was full of positive energy but not full of herself. Her friend, Betty White, said that for someone of her stature in the industry for all those years, it's amazing that she is still vulnerable. That says a lot. She never became hardened or jaded. She is so easy to love because she exudes such love.
Its easy to understand why she lived to the age of 97. She lived on her love for animals and a vegetarian because she LOVED ANIMALS. What a life and what a beautiful woman with a gorgeous smile.
To all the commentators saying how good things were then and how bad they are now, I remember as a child people saying exactly the same thing then - back in the 50s. So just appreciate the good things, people. :)
What a performer! She had a recording career, as well as films and TV. She did not exactly like "Que Sera Sera", thought it was for kids. But she won the Academy award with it, and it became her 'signature' song.
Gotta love this exchange at 7:52 John Daly: "I certainly enjoyed your picture, 'Young at Heart.'" Doris Day: "John, I haven't made 'Young at Heart' yet. I'm GOING to make it."
I loved Doris Day, she was a wonderful singer, so heartfelt when she delivered those lyrics to some of the most beautiful songs of her era. A talented comedic as well as serious actor. She will be missed. 😔❤️
I was bought up wiyh Doris Day movies, l adore her! She is a shining star in the sky so many memories of a wonderful lady, thank you for allowing us to see snippets of her life!
RIP Miss Day. I adore you. I grew up with your movies and music. You are so beautiful and talented and a good person. I own quite a few of your movies and watch them frequently. 💜
I'm an ol' Texas boy who remembers "What's My Line?" & Doris Day from the mid 1950s & onward. Doris was a great singer, a great actress, & she had one of the sexiest speaking voices I've ever heard. She was hotter than Laredo in July.
These people are my parents generation and a little older so that explains why there is so much class, good language skills, and wonderful dialog and humor. God how I miss that generation in my family. They are all dead and when we would have parties and cook outs it was so much fun having people like that over at our house. The depth and intelligence of the W W 2 generation will be sorely missed when they are all dead.
Miss Doris Day brought joy to many with her sunny good looks and her charming personality and let's not forget that beautiful voice she had! I just know she's a solo artist in the Heavenly Choir! Enjoy her, you lucky Angels!
Oh Doris, so sad you’re gone ....you were one of a kind! A true Hollywood star with so much class, beauty and charm! Your voice was incredible, there was such beauty in that voice. You did it all! You brought so much light and beauty to the world You were the definition of the girl next door! There was no one like you, nor will there ever be anyone like you! Such a beauty! We will miss you....a lot! RIP darling Doris..
"When I was just a little boy I asked my mother who shall I be. Will I be handsome ? Will I be rich ? That's what she said to me: Ce serra serra whatever will be will be..." Long live Doris. We love you !!!!!
Ahh, a thought. Did the show change the sign in boards every time a mystery guest signed in? And kept the boards? Wow, I see a multi million dollar cha ching if it was true.
this is wonderful! btw, when she was young teen she lived in Norwood, Ohio and I am proud to say that my Dad took her out on a date once! He said she had a lot of freckles!
Saturday her name came up and I said she is still living, she must be in her upper 90s(97). Then Monday I got the news. I was saddened by it because I had seen her in movies as a child. and watched her when she did get her television program. I always liked Doris Day, as a child, as a teen, and as an adult. RIP Doris.
My mom was named after Doris Day. I went on to become a trained baritone. As a child I used to listen to her sing on records. Among many others. She was a wonderful woman for sure.
I love how Doris is just beaming the whole time here. First saw reruns of WML when I was about 12, all thanks to GSN. Still love everything about these original game shows.
Since my Dad was a Navy officer, we went to the movies on base almost every week back in the 40's and 50's. I developed a crush on Doris Day about the time I was 8 years old and it's still alive and well. As great a combination of looks and talent as has ever been in movies and on records.
jimmy, old women like doris day, at 99 or whatever, make the best lovers. they think it is gonna be their last time so t hey put everything into shagging and fucking and riding etc.
