DOS & DON’TS OF PAIRING SKIRTS WITH SHOES 

I actually liked the ballet flats and would def wear them the same way

It’s totally personal opinion but I think ballet flats particularly those with a pointed toe work perfectly with an a-line midi skirt. I would then add contrast on the top using an “edgier” top or leather component eg blazer or jacket. Chunky loafers are not everyone’s taste, very much a cyclical trend piece masquerading as a classic and don’t suit many people or their aesthetic.
