That's not the reason. I used to work as a Marshall and we love seeing this stuff, but at the same time the job is to keep everyone safe. If you crash then it's more paperwork for us, and also we get questioned as to why we let a dangerous car stay on track (and can cause us to get in trouble). I used to work at a karting track too and we used to get people come down and throw these homemade frankenmachines about and then they got angry when we black flagged them for putting themselves and others in danger
@@CamberandCombustion it's Amazing! So thanks for the content.. Makes you realise trackdays should be more fun and less competitive. Would love to be on the same track day as you guys!
@@danielhurman2927 exactly! If you want to catch us on a track day then keep an eye out for our planned days on our Instagram page! Be good to see you out 👍
Mark C That little extra flick of the wrist to the left on exit to set up the drift was sexy lol 😂. FWD drifting seems alien to me, but hey, short wheel base, and enough momentum will get her done lol 😂!
TooManyChoices1 My focus gets lift off oversteer , I actually don’t like it, I’ve had a few Rwd cars in my youth and driven them a C+#T , Sierra XR4i - D-reg 320i - F-Reg 325is they were great fun 😝 These days I just like to get a move on Without the Antics .
I think I respect you guys even more on the basis of knowing how much car control is required to do this. 😂 Love the videos guys see you on track soon!
What a nosense, these guys control everything excellent, and besides tracks are exactly for this purpose- to learn and train. What are they trying to promote; that drivers should have zero controlling skills when skid happens?
While I love their videos because they are fun and clearly they are talented drivers, I do think it's normal they get black flag for their shenanigans. There are rules in a track and they are breaking them. That's the game they're playing and sometimes they lose.
@@Duron13 If you can't train controlling your car, there is no point in existence of tracks. And you can't learn that if you don't skid. Looks like track owners only whish to make money of bad drivers who only want to push some throttle on straights. If they don't allow actually pushing hard or learning how to control your car, these tracks are not worthy of visiting.
Get that gti-6 tuned son! Had one a few years back engine had a fair bit spent on it and it embarrassed a lot of far more expensive cars on track. Surprisingly reliable too!
Camber and Combustion hahaha it make me smile how you shift so casually but so fast, I live in New Zealand so European cars are kind of rear, my friend has a 306 s16 so the one just before yours and I have a mk4 polo gti big deference in gearboxes with his being very light and mine being very mechanical keep sending those cars hard and stay safe
As I explained in other threads, we Marshal's do love to see this but at the end of the day our job is to keep everyone safe in the track. Having two guys doing this can lead to a lot of problems. If they crash it's a lot of paper work foe us and also we get in trouble for letting a dangerous car on circuit. Yes these guys are good but you see a lot of guys who do this stuff snd crash, and then other cars swerve to avoid and also crash etc etc. At the end of the day there are defined rules for the day to make sure everyone has a fun time and one of those rules is no drifting and the other is to drive within your limits or get pulled off
@@dannywhite132 That's fair enough but they were within their limits. If someone goes off, they go off. That's the point of a track. As long as they do it away from other cars I can't see the harm. It's just H&S culture.
Love a 306 gti6 best budget hot hatch you can get had a mk2 ibiza years back took it round combe once didn't handle well needed a refresh o bushings ect, wish I had bought one of these instead.
As much as I like the fun side of it, this action surely doesn't belongs in an open trackday. You guys were lucky the Castle Combe marshals were watching - many circuits have lazy and careless marshals who wouldn't look and let accidents happen.
Cheers bud 🤙 The 306 has using one of these clamps - www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07KN6NRLC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - on the bucket and the Clio uses some custom jobby that Alex made up.
Christ the lift-off oversteer on that 306 looks terrifying/fun/dangerous lol. Gotta have some balls (or be a bit mental) to pitch it into wet corners like that haha!
😂😂😂😂 fantastic ! I couldn't stop laughing at this video . Great bit of driving from you both and it just shows you dont need a rwd car to have serious fun
Was it just the lairy driving, or did they mis-interpret some of the fist shaking as aggressive? Special effort boys! I’ve seen MUCH “worse” driving on race days and not had to black flag anyone.
He said, 'We've had reports of you getting crazy all around the track and you need to calm it down. And of course you weren't racing that Clio in front of you were you..' That was pretty much it 😄
Yeah, because if you were racing that Clio you are a criminal mate, who told you that you can race in racetrack? Also who told you that you can drive to the limits on racetrack? I wonder where you have the freedom to do these things?
@@Thorgal85 Some smaller tracks have limitation only for grip racing (no drifting) and not pushing too much so you dont cause some accident. Its weird, but its their track..
