Hey guys! I got another oddball truck, this time coming out of the Green Team of San Jose yard. This truck is a replacement for a McNeilus ZR that was destroyed as a result of a cab fire. Not sure why they chose an Autoreach as a replacement, but it's reportedly because the fleet manager came from the Republic Services yard in Fremont, and wanted to experiment with an Autoreach.
I've known about this truck for about a year but never got the opportunity to record it. The driver actually reached out to me when the truck was brand new but communication was lost shortly after. Fast forward a year, and in conversation with another driver, I was put in direct contact with Johnny and we set up a day to come out and film his truck. Was quite a fun day. The truck still looked almost brand new, and he was lid flipping AND double dumping freely which was thoroughly entertaining.
