23&me girl. When my mom couldn’t give me answers, I took 23&me. 3 years later a woman contacted me stating the dna shows we are half sisters. I found my father and me and my sis are best friends. I found him when I was 34.

My dad passed away 35 years ago questioning if I was his child. He apologized for the trauma (physical not SA) he’d caused me before he passed. My immediate family always treated horrible while their actions were not that of a loving family. I quit going to that side of family reunions, do not use my maiden name, and don’t speak to my siblings. BUT I did do an Ancestry DNA, a few years back and confirmed that I was indeed second cousins with my dad’s first cousin. Crazy thing about it, I had several emails confirming my relationship with other family members on that side of the family but it didn’t really hit me until it confirmed it with my favorite cousin that I always referred to as my Uncle. I would recommend doing this without hesitation because it was finally closure after almost 50 years of not knowing.

The daddy is a heartless man. The only reason why he told her is because he was mad at her. Y’all pay attention. He was aware that she was not her father before she was born because his mother confirmed that she educated him on the dates don’t match. Yet he marries her AND has another child. Me thinks he and the young lady had a difficult relationship especially with her mother passing at a young age and whenever they beefed he probably was thinking , she is not my child. Which is exactly what happened.

This case made no sense to me , if he loved her mother and married her knowing she was pregnant already and then chose to raise not only her but have another child with her mother! There was no reason to say anything to her! It seems like it was eating at his mother rather then him! After 33 years later despite biologically he raised her she is his! All because he didn’t want to babysit her child! That’s what bothers me why now! I pray she gets the help she deserves! There was no reason to break her heart! She seems like she had enough to deal with!

Her child is developmentally disabled and the genetics/health issues in the genetic background are super important to manage/understand the child's health. Her questionnaire in all probability, was asking for those biological genetics/family health details and he could not answer them by continuing to carry the lie that he is her father. He'd obviously loved her mother, accepted the truth about the pregnancy, told the other man "WE GOT THIS", manned up and supported/educated/nurtured her throughout childhood into adulthood.

Sympathy? For what? Keeping the secret for 33 years. He knew from the jump she more than likely wasn't his but he kept that from her and made her believe he was her father, to 33 years later drop the bomb on her, because she was upset that the man who told her he was her father didn't want to be in her and her kid's life. He deserves no sympathy he had 33 years to make sure everything was legit and not emotionally destroy her.

D M 0 seconds ago Everyone keeps saying in the 2nd case he should’ve taken it to his grave. BUT WHY? Yes, he should’ve addressed it earlier before she turned 33 yo and before her mother passed. However, it’s important that all kids know of their lineage for so many reasons. But it should NEVER go to someone’s grave for the sake of it is possible that she and or her children could meet or date someone and it could be a relative. This is truly a travesty. I feel her pain... I truly wish that they could’ve addressed it earlier and in a respectful manner. I pray that she heals from this and find her biological father. 🙏🏽😢

I understand him telling her because it must have eaten at him for 30+ years. The mother Lord rest her soul knew he wasn't the father, at some point I know he told her (meaning the mother) that he was going to tell her (meaning the daughter) the truth, the mother should have told her first and given her the name of her biological father...he was such a stand up guy he took great care of her anyway and for that she should be thanking her lucky stars.

Mrs St James crying for her momma literally brought me to tears. If he knew this years ago, he should have said something other than to his son, her brother, that never mentioned anything to her. Also, he should have never given her this information over the phone, and made sure someone else was there to assist with her mental state of shocking news. Mr Esaw, you did raise her, that was a good thing, but she could have possibly had her biological father, if living, walk her down the isle, if they developed a bond. This was heartbreaking for all, even us.
