Somebody said it but that doesn't make it true. And notice the man who has no kids is trying to tell a father what to do. Paying support isn't everything but it is a big thing. So much so people go to jail over not paying support. So much so that a man cannot demand parental rights unless he's current on his payments. I think the problem with fatherhood is that moms almost always want more and fathers have the ability to refuse a mother's "orders" when he does pay support.

and someone was wrong! It has a whole lot to do with being a responsible father! A man who makes little to no effort to be financially responsible for his child is neither caring nor loving. He is slacking, lacking, and bullshyting. It is more than financial responsibility, yes, but it definitely includes that too!

I would say I agree. Yet, having worked and working with children (sixth graders) I have to disagree on some levels. I’m observing adults who act like my sixth grade class. Meaning aged out of childhood but never grew up. Childhood psychological, emotional and even chemical problems were never resolved. And parental issues can make matters worse for a child.

It was an excuse you know it’s a trauma us girls without fathers have it can go either way I know for myself I’m a little more closed off vs some of my friends that wanted kids to start a family young do to that same trauma it goes both ways it’s sad because it’s a cycle

It affects people differently. I know why some say not having a father doesn't mean anything because I grew up with an active father but still had 2 children by 2 different men and am separated from my husband who isn't the father of either (no there was no cheating or anything, I married him 5 years ago and my kids are almost 13 and 9). After getting an education in psych, I feel like I was searching for the happy home I grew up in which is why I lowered the bar to meet men where they were instead of where they SHOULD have been. I never had any question about paternity, I was always faithful but I put up with a ton of terrible men. In my case, having a loving active father who is still married to my mother didn't do me any good. But to some it could have made a difference for. We are all different with different life experiences and different needs. This young woman clearly needed what I had. I feel like maybe I needed my folks to fight once in a while because they did the "healthy thing" and IF they fought, I mostly never knew about it lol
