DOUBLE REACTION TO Sigrid - Burning Bridges (Official & Acoustic) 

Hey man! Thanks! Appreciate it! I don’t know röyksopp actually! Maybe I need to bring some Robyn to the channel as I only know a few of her songs.

@@AdamStraughan that’s such a shame, you missed their initial run of albums, the ‘retirement’ as they felt they’d said everything they had to say and were done with the traditional album format, the lost tapes, and now the (potential) comeback and them playfully teasing the new updates and information i feel like you’ve mentioned not liking electronic music, i am hopefully wrong? but röyksopp isn’t really an electronica band in the traditional sense. and they themselves don’t like labels. their collaborations with robyn resulted in some tremendous music. danni already mentioned monument (and there’s a stunning remix of it on their ‘final album’), but that’s a big, existential, cosmic song to start with. the running to the sea music video has been suggested in 20+ reactions, most recently in regards to the utøya tragedy ‘anniversary’ (although the röyksopp folks have smartly never said what it’s specifically about) and a jamie mcdermott track for pride month. so in my opinion: ‘running to the sea’ music video, ‘do it again’ music video, and ‘monument’….both versions in perhaps separate videos. the latter (the inevitable end version) is an ode to touring, friendship, the effect music has on audiences and more….all in one miraculously edited video 👍🏼 “I have a huge hunger for music and cultural impressions of any form. @@jackslater6182 Hey man, thanks for this! I know nothing of Röyksopp, but at least their music is still available to listen to and enjoy even after it’s initial run! Regarding electronic music - I don’t mind it! It’s dance music I said I wasn’t really into. I’ll give anything a listen once though!

@@AdamStraughan yes indeed. and i hope you’ll consider the ‘running to the sea’ music video for your channel (reasons stated above, plus it’s been suggested 70 times), after that it’s either apple music essentials on shuffle or maybe a few reactions to the robyn/röyksopp collaborators. i’d totally forgotten that she sang ‘show me love’ way back in the day. ahh, that’s it, yeah. and same here, even country music gets a listen or two. 😁 are you familiar with goldfrapp? the irrepressibles? man without country/ryan james? the knife? all collaborators on the röyksopp albums. anyway…. “QUESTION: Another thing that’s quite interesting about the album is the guest vocalists on the tracks, how do you go about matching the singer to the song? RÖYKSOPP: Maintaining what uniquely identifies us as Röyksopp, namely the sounds, we try to make the sounds interesting and fresh and when we’re looking for collaborators in terms of vocals we’re always trying to find vocalists that are unique and can fit well with the song. For instance the female vocalists we have on this album are quite diverse, in our heads, in terms of vocal abilties. You have on one track Lykke Li, who has a sensual, girlish, whispery, secretive voice. It’s very percussive as well… it’s not those long, wailing Christina Aguilera notes, she’s doing it short and snappy. That almost naïve approach to at least the way she sings on “Miss It So Much” which is very much a track romanticising the old, we wanted it to have a certain naivety, and that sits very well with her whispery, secretive, delicate voice. Jamie McDermott [The Irrepressibles] has a theatrical quality, and we were lucky to work with him. There's sincere drama in his voice. We wanted to be heartfelt, but not in a larger than life way. It's hard to do when dealing with death.”

@@Accolonian it’s a phenomenal video, indeed. i think i’ve listened to the inevitable end version more, even though i like them both equally, if that makes sense. the original monument is a five-course meal, and the inevitable end version is something a little lighter, while still conveying most of the same themes. anyhoo….happy new year!!
