Double Sleeving Your Yu-Gi-Oh Cards is Awesome 

Paul, the inner/outer sleeve goes the opposite way! Otherwise you aren’t adding much protection! The top is still open this way as opposed to creating a seal! Also Konami says they have to be in opposite directions to be legal!

Wait, what is Paul doing? Why is he putting both sleeves on the same way?! Before I got back into playing, I thought it was funny how big the news of double-sleeving was. But now that I am playing, I feel the need to double sleeve all of my decks, especially because I'm using premium gold rare cards. Why wasn't that legal before?

I have just started double sleeving my cards and my commons have never felt so expensive

PSA 1: Gotta have those double sleeves facing opposite ways PSA 2: the flap on the resealable inners goes behind the card not in front, your foils will look better for it

Sleeving a deck is like counting coins or painting a mini. Most people might think it's just a tedious thing you gotta do, but it's such a fun activity for me. I could literally spend the entire day doing it and be happy at the end

I was wondering why you put the sleeve in the same way. I'm not trying to be rude but seems like it would get more dust and dirt inside when it's like that.

I love the Idea of having the outter double sleeve on the extrra deck and the inner for the main deck. It really does make them look regal lol and a nice contrast

I've been playing Yugioh since like 2000 and I didn't even really sleeve at the time (too young). I learned about sleeves around 2006. Then when Card fight Vanguard came out I learned about double sleeving, and I've been double sleeving my Yu-Gi-Oh cards ever since (but I never participated in Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments). I'm so happy we can finally officially double sleeve because there are some beautiful color combos you can make to match themed decks

Imo the entire reason to double sleeve is to protect a "premium" sleeve, and to "seal" the top and bottom openings as Paul demonstrated at the end. I'm a genuinely confused why someone wouldn't just seal the top and bottom if double sleeving.

I love the perfect fit sealable been using them for Magic for a couple years now. I have at least 2-3 EDH (100 card) decks and 3 Modern (60 card main, 15 card side) decks in them. I am really glad to hear Yu-Gi-Oh finally has them.

Double sleeving not only protects your cards, but to me personally makes the cards pop and look better aesthetically!

The innersleeve is supposed to go on upside down. That’s how you get a proper seal, the whole point of double sleeves.

ive met someone with hes deck slevved in top loaders, he pulled it out of hes bag and the whole comlete deck was toploaded. He said he got them in bulk. the cards inside were all just commons and rares

Ultra Guard also has inner sleeves that load in from the side. Wonder what the Konami ruling on those are, since their ruling is that the sleeves need to be opposite

There are those hobby league selves in red or blue that I purchased from an OTS* years ago and they fit ultra pro ones as a double sleeve and they also have the official yugioh logo

Dragon Shield is working on Smokes for smaller cards. Smokes are one-sided translucent sleeves work with their lighter colors to help you not see the back of the card through the sleeve.

love ds over sleeves, haven’t tried any better ones yet tbh. the clear front and matte back is very nice. too bad my locals hadn’t been able to restock in like 6 months

Having your cards sleeved the same way with the gap on top is against tournament policy. You have to place them in a opposite way, the card has to be seald inside 2 sleeves.

I'm a competitive Pokémon player, casual Yu-Gi-Oh, and beginner Digimon. I really like Perfect Fit sleeves for my binders. I also double sleeved my Yu-Gi-Oh! deck with the Perfect Fits, and some Ultra Pros on the outside. I experimented with oversleeves to put over some anime branded sleeves I bought, and I found that with Pokémon in particular, it made the deck height too unwieldy. Seems fine with Digimon though, as that deck has about 10 fewer cards. I can see it being fine with Yu-Gi-Oh, but I'd have to test. For my Pokémon deck, I currently have them single sleeved because I ran out of perfect fits, and because my current deck doesn't have any really valuable cards lol.

When you double sleeve you should put on one sleeve upside down. Like when I double sleeve (using inner sleeves) I put the card upside down in that sleeve and then right side up in my dragon shield sleeve. That way the card is protected from the top and bottom in case anything spills

I love those sealable sleeves, since I tend to change my decks regularly my cards get a bit of wear and tear as time goes on but these inner sleeves let me change my decks around without any issue

I didn't know Dragon Shield made perfect fit sleeves. I tried outer sleeves when the rule was first changed, but didn't like how thick the deck was. Maybe I'll try out the perfect fit inner sleeve and see how that feels.

Tournament legal way is putting them opposite ways in. So innersleeve opening would go in facing the opening of the other sleeve.

Was gonna go into the comments to yell at Paul for not putting the inner sleeves/outer sleeves the same directions, but y'all got that covered already haha~ Thing of note: Before the outersleeves that Dragon Shields had for JPN-size cards, what most people did to do an outersleeve is to use Standard Dragon Shield Clear Matte sleeves and use that to double sleeve the cards. Most JPN-sized sleeves fit snuggly into a standard sleeve, which "converts" the standard sleeve into an outer sleeve! So if you can't find the Dragon Shield Outersleeves for JPN-sized cards, you can use Standard Clears instead! PS: I'm also a BIG fan of KMC Perfect Fit innersleeves more than Dragon Shields. I find KMCs have a better tight fit that helps double sleeve a lot better within a regular sleeve. Cheers and thanks for the vid Paul!

I double sleeve all my decks using either dragon shield clear or broccoli green and use yugioh ocg sleeves for the inner.

I used to double sleeve my Vanguard cards with a clear inner sleeve then outer KMC sleeves, if i remember the brand correctly. I stopped playing in 2015.

I'm about to use border sleeves for extra deck tho i heard they are illegal even if onkly used for extra? use the official art sleeves from konami and use dragonsheild matte clear over it. the art sleeves are holo and the matte makes it pop more.

I want to do it but I'm still unaware if is legal to double sleeve like that for official tournaments. I know we can double sleeve, but I believed that the main, extra and side must be double sleeved in the same way, meaning, all inner sleeved or all outer sleeved, because I would like to do it the same way Paul did.

I'm kind of a sleeves/dice goblin, so i love this kind of videos, but i wouldn't double sleeve a deck in such a way that the second sleeve Is put on in the same direction as the First sleeve. I would do It the way that protects the upper part of the card with the second sleeve

Sleeves always go opposite to actually seal the card top and bottom. You put the inner sleeve over the top of the card, so its open at bottom, then you take that and slide it bottom first in the regular sleeve and that way the top of card is sealed when exposed at opening of top of your main sleeve I have had great success with the Dragon shield matte gold Japanese size card sleeves with the KMC perfect fit 60x87mm inner sleeves. You sometimes need to use a table to help press the card down into the out sleeve but once done you NEVER had to redo it. They stay locked in too and dont slide up card sleeve. Once sleeved stack you deck and used a very hard flat surface and compress your deck with a little weight to get any air bubbles out of sleeve and in an hour or 2 you have a super clean, protected, flat deck.

so I have some of the sealable and I like how they fit but my cards will absolutely not fit in dragon shield sleeves with them. it's so hard to get them to slide in without wanting to bend especially if you ultimate rares from older sets which are much thinner.

Couldnt help pause a few times to peak into the deck... But yeah. I double sleeving is a great feel but the cards do feel too big after going so long with the Japanese size only. Also... Rikka Fairy's in Magenta and Olive(inner) and standard Green and magenta(inner) combo. A-1.

So I want to clear up something that's been bugging me. The official rule says that you can double sleeve your cards in the condition that at least one of your sleeves is a clear sleeve. This video has lead me to believe that it does not matter which sleeve is the clear one, the inner or outer sleeve. Am I correct about this assumption? Secondly, I am curious about whether I can do something or not. Can I for an example double sleeve my main and extra deck, and leave the side deck single sleeved, then when I'm tagging out cards from my side deck, I remove the outer sleeve from the main/extra deck card and apply it to the side deck card. Would this be legal in a tournament or do I need to have the side deck double sleeved as well? Please let me know.

nice too bad theyre out of stock and no shop i use seems to be carrying them gonna have to wait and keep using standard clear mattes from them which are fine but just a tiny bit too big. rather have a snug fit

I'm just watching this video now and it got me to buy the matte clear Outer Sleeves because I have the Charmer design sleeves that I use for my deck and I don't want them to get peeled or damaged so this video helped so much.

Ive been double sleeving my card since before the ruling change. If im going to spend my hard earned money on cards you can bet im going to protect them with double sleeving

I did the inner sleeve but in opposite directions and the deck ended up "poofy" like the cards were holding air with the dragon shield sleeves + perfect fit inner sleeves (same as the video). Tried pressing them down for a few days and that worked Short term but they just inflated again over time. Any ideas on how to avoid this?

inner or outer, yoy yugioh players are new to this and did it wrong. whichever sleeve ends up inside you want it on backwards, so top of card down. then place the card in the outer sleeve normally, that way you prevent anything from getting to.the card itself. this is what mtg players do and I may use this as it will give me more feel for the smaller cards.
