@dxtrfn80 in 86, Double Talk in my area was on @ 10:30 am on Channel 5 WOI-TV (Ames/Des Moines, IA), and then Ryan's Hope @ 11 am and Loving @ 11:30 am, I have a TV guide from 86 to prove it.
Was the way Henry Polic II gave out those white roses on the Friday show a trademark he used throughout the series? B/c I also remembered him giving out 200 roses to the staff on the series finale.
they would have buzzed you for saying "Your" :p She said "You're dirty" so they didn't get her for that.. The judges were good to not get tripped up on that, but alert enough to catch "ready"
and the font used on this show is also used on another Henry Polic ABC show in "Webster" (the 1st 3 seasons of that show in particular) as well. And coincidentally, reruns of Henry Polic's other ABC show in "Webster" replaced this show. And in a nutshell, Henry Polic II is one of the few GS hosts to do two or more projects for the same network in a given season. The other I can think of is Ahmad Rashad when he hosted "Caesar's Challenge" and the "NBA on NBC" for NBC.
How do you think Henry would do as host of the new $1,000,000 Pyramid? He played the game so well, and I would think he would make a great host. Better than Tim Vincent or Dean Cain, probably part of the reason CBS did not buy the new show.
Like Pyramid, this show disliked male contestants. Houston didn't have this series due to Donahue. However, it was only seen once during a rain delay of the NLCS (Houston Astros @ New York Mets).
