Sewing tutorial for a double zipper bag that folds in half. This bag is great for holding craft projects or kids activities (especially if you have two kids who will fight if their things get mixed up...just me??).
The idea for this bag actually came to me while I was sick. I laid in bed planning and designing the double zipper bag and as soon as I was well enough to sew I made a tiny version of it to make sure the design worked. It did, so I made a full sized bag and love it! It was so important to me that both pockets be fully functioning and the bag be completely lined and finished inside and out. I made some wet bags with PUL for my daughter last year before my Grandson was born. They didn't have dual zippers like this bag. PUL is slippery to work with, so I used the 1/4" double sided washable tape for installing the zipper as well as sewing the seams together. Worked like a charm.

Perfect different look. My daughter sews up zip bags for me even though I am a sewer and I love using them all her fabric choices are different than mine. Gifts for teenagers stuffed with useful items. I will share with her and she will have a new direction for Christmas. 🇨🇦

Love this. I sometimes want a quick easy bag for the grands. I sometimes surge with zippers I love how you have us layer so not seeing one at a time. Made very easy for this old brain to grasp lol. Thanks young lady

Hi Whitney - great idea, made one last night. I have shared your tutorial on my Pinterest page and added a photo of my make . I made it bigger to fit an embroidery hoop and supplies and/or my tablet as I used fusible fleece to the outer fabric also placed two snaps, an inch in from the sides.

Oh thank you so much!! I got 12, yes 12, boxes of large fabric swatch/display samples. We're talking overflowing boxes the size used to ship apples to grocery stores!! While some is uplostry and other unusable for my machine, a majority is perfect for this! I can have a cutting out party and thin out this estate sale mess I have! Perfect excuse for the girls to come over!

Very Nice as always Beautiful Whitney!! I can tell you are a relatively young mom, still trying to eliminate the arguing!! (my parents had six kids, can you imagine? Fun though.) I so loved your teaching, you let us know exactly what to do. Was so anxious to try however I got my pieces lined and was starting in fact almost to the end of the first side of the first zipper when I did something I wasn't taught to do and that was to stitch through my finger ouch, blood everywhere. Probably needed stitches other than mine, but I will tough it out and see what tomorrow brings. Keeping my hand up and did get it to stop bleeding

Super cute! I can think of many ideas uses for something along these lines. Don't you love it when being sick, I mean if you're gonna get it, less too fabulous ideas. Time down wasn't for not .. yay! Would be really nice if you consider following through with all the steps for newbies. I can't tell you what a drag it is to begin following a tutorial only to find you need to stop and go search out another video to complete your project. Thank thoug for a cute lil bag. I bet the kids will want the own pretty quickly !

I assume people watch the full video before starting a project, so they would know in advance about the snap. I do a lot of videos with snaps, so I refer to the one in depth tutorial instead of showing it every single time. That would get really repetitive for my regular viewers and add a lot of extra time to my filming, editing, and uploading.

@@Whitney_Sews Maybe it would be possible to mention at the top of the vids the things you'll not be illustrating and that you'll have a link. Just a thought I promise I'm not smashing on you. But to assume everyone takes the time to go through an entire vid before jumping in..umm lol I personally dont have time and when I see something as cute as this lil bag I go for it . after a brain injury {or not I suppose many poeple deal with it} to hesitate is to fear to try. I hope you understand a bit of a different view. It would be great to have a list of what you'll need for the project as it starts, I totes get it, mommy life Creator..wife so much so lil time. I tried but it looked too plain with the fabrics I chose! I tried to retro fit an zipper in the inner side and pocket... learned my lesson but did not give up, looks super homemade but its functional!

It's cute, but it should have a little strap or two to hang. And I wonder if you could make a messenger bag/tote bag where between those two pockets is a big pocket.

I've come across PUL at Tuesday Morning and at Joanns. The options are limited though so online is probably the best option.

I have watched your video at least 8 times and am very confused . If you had used 2 colors instead of 4 it would have been easier to understand. Also I am used to the terms right side out and in side out instead pretty side. Way too confusing. I have been sewing for 78 years.
