I made a purse with a similar technique but I needed to know how to do exactly what you are doing! I looked at the date uploaded and no wonder this never came up in my search. My daughter wanted a zippered pouch to carry bills and coins. I cut this at 8 inches instead of 6 inches and kept the other measurements the same. I put zipper tabs on the top zipper. I used a light interfacing on the outside pieces only.

I was trying to figure out how to add foam lining to such a pouch - your approach is so easy I'm glad I found this video! My goal is to make a golf accessory pouch that would allow for a cellphone or glasses in the full pocket along with pocket for tees/markers. Seen ready made but want it with colorful fabric. Obviously sized differently, but approach will be the same. Thanks for a great video/how-to.

Paudeli1 I use the American system of measurement, but have a metric ruler on my cutting table and by my machine for patterns that are in metric. Easy peasy.

Linda Daley thanks! I sew them at an angle because otherwise the lining will be too big for the pouch. It provides a cleaner, less bunched up lining.

So glad you found the video helpful! I think this wallet is so small that zipper tabs might not work. You can always try it but I would make them very narrow.

Thanks for a great video. If you wanted to make a larger pouch, such as 9 X 7, how would you adjust the measurements? If I understand the video, all pieces would be 9.5 inches wide (with 1/4 inch seams) but how would the other pieces such as 3.25 inch and 1.75 piece be adjusted. thanks

Try 9.5 x 4.25 and 9.5 x 2.75. Lining fabric would be adjusted accordingly so the front pocket linings would be 9.5 x 4.25 and 9.5 x 4.75. Hope I'm correct!

This is exactly what I was looking for to make this bag can I use non woven interfacing for the fabrics ? I also have the double sided fusible batting and regular 109% cotton batting which is best to use? Sometimes I get confused from all the different batting and fusibles 🤗😁

Yes you may use a non woven interfacing. For a bag this small I think any of the batting options you mentioned would work fine.

I cut all my pieces and interfaced everything, started sewing this morning and can't figure out how you attached the back of the lining for the first (smaller) pocket. Please help!

At 6:05 you can see that I lay the lining right side up on my table then lay the bottom front with zipper attached, on top of it. Then lay the little outer fabric section on top of the zipper and stitch. You are stitching 3 layers at one time. Hope that helps!

Yes you can. It will be very thin and floppy but it would be fine.

Hello. Cute lil pouch! I'm wondering(I realize this vidis older) can you add the links or products you purchase to the drop down. Not sure what you called the zippers you buy I'm bulk. That would just make it easy for everyone to find the info without bugging you lol. Do you have this pattern in a larger size? how do you have your zipper closed with the tab in the middle? are you manually putting the teeth together? I've never seen that before.

you can buy a regular zipper if you can't get them by the yard get on that is long like 18 inches cut off the ends where the metal pieces are and pull the tab off of the zip and reattach to the same side to make your own or if you need a color match you can even die a white one any color Walmart even sells the zip by the yard
