I just installed these on my 2023 KLR when I got home from picking up my new machine today. The 18 mile ride home showed me that those stock mirrors were not the greatest. I just installed them after watching your video. Used the same loctite. Thanks for posting this video
The only problem I’ve experienced so far is with the rubber balls from Ram. They get a bit compressed And one of the mirrors moves at the most inopportune times. I think they sell hard plastic balls. I’m going to try those. Thanks for watching.
Haven’t rode motorcycles in decades but just thought I would stop by and say hi.. hopefully helping out the channel in the process. Hi 👋 Have a nice day
I have them on my Versys. Excellent view. The big issue with them is the rubber ball. Too soft. Deforms quickly within a couple months of installation. Once the mounting ball deforms adjustment becomes difficult nearly impossible. The ball needs to be a firmer material that does not deform.
hello SP. how did the mirrors work out when riding? just curious as to whether the images in your mirrors when riding are still blurry from the vibrations, like what happens with the stock mirrors. thank u!
The mirrors have worked out very well. I like the fact that they are quite a bit higher and have a wider field of view than the stock mirrors. I have now installed these mirrors on both sides of the bike. However, when I was running with one stock mirror and one DoubleTake, the vibration of the engine is much more visible in the DoubleTake than in the stock mirror. This results in a significant amount of distortion. I am thinking about switching from the rubber Ram balls that come with the mirrors to something harder.
@@SuburbanPathfinder I understand the breakaway features of the doubletakes, but since I don't ride trails I don't need them so, I will stick with stock and put up with those blurry images. thanx so much!
