Honestly, I love Clementine far too much to even consider betraying her. She means so much to me, and it hurts me to even watch this because I am just too attached to her to see her being treated this way.
Even if Clem isn't your favorite character she's still the only character the player knows in this season. I mean come on we've know her since she was 8.
no his story is so dumb it seems like telltale got really lazy, Javier is not relevant in this story truly it would be better if he dies. I really hate Javi and Lee would never befriend a guy who would do that to clementine even if she kilt a guy he loves her to much so that thought would never come to his head
well , Lee and Kenny taught her how to survive alone in world of walkers ... and her lonelyness and will to survive taught her how to survive in world of cruel humans . Its clear that it DID change her behavior
you know what clems went through and losing people who she loved and with her and its not easy for her. same as kenny but much worse especially she started this shit since she so little. no wonder if she like that
Javi has Jesus by his side and Jesus is an expert martial artist, the strongest fighter in TWD universe. Lee and Kenny are ground beef if they went up against Jesus, like.. just stop 🤣🤣
Y'know, it really makes no sense at all for Javier to be this understanding and helpful towards Clementine. They met because Clementine tried to rob him and then kept him at gunpoint for a while. Don't even try to make up excuses for her, she was doing exactly that. And when she blows a guys brains out, she suddenly expects her former captive to stand up for her; a guy she has known for a few hours, most of which were spent with a shotgun pointed at his back. You don't even get the option to betray her. You only get to choose between the truth and a lie. I was afraid this would happen. People, and Telltale as well it seems, are way too biased towards Clementine to make interacting as Javier with her any fun. Javier is justified in shooting Conrad, though. He was threatening his nephew (actually kills both of them if you let the timer run out) and was becoming a danger to the group. But again, people only did this for Clementine, when in reality it would just be a nice side effect for Javier after rescuing his nephew.
I think that's the brilliance of Telltale though. They're not biased towards her, but they're counting on your bias, just like the end screen stats show. I bet she betrays you big time by the end of the story. Because she's only looking out for #1, which is herself. That being said, I still can't handle the stink eye she's giving Javi, so I'm not gonna do wrong by her. Not yet anyways.
Wouldn't you do that to a guy who was tied up? Do you understand how much Clementine has been through!? Look your point is very good but some parts aren't very good to me, like I said Clementine has been through a lot of stuff especially she has been through a lot of betrayal, she's not taking any chances anymore because of all she's been through which is what I would do, ALSO what would you do if u saw someone shoot a guy? Or saw someone handcuffed? You could think that persons hand cuffed for hurting someone or being a threat, I think Clementine had a very good point to keep him at gunpoint, and although I think trying to rob him was a very poor choice for Clementine, I guess they wanted to make her seem more of a survivor who takes what they need or want, again defending Clementine is a good choice, not because of what she's done which sometimes isn't very good but letting another human being get hurt and used? What if you happened to be in the same situation?
+IIClementineTWDII I'm sure you wouldn't want to be used as a bargaining chip even if you've made some poor choices, people are ignoring Clementine and focusing on how Conrads not a bad guy but neither is Clementine! She's just trying to survive and she doesn't intend to hurt others, Conrad on the other hand intended to hurt gabe AND NOT TO MENTION JAVIER (You), people ignore the most important facts and details about the characters.
in season 2 she only swore once, in episode 5 when you choose to shoot Kenny, then tell Jane "you are fucking crazy!!" now in season 3, i can't even count how many times she swore
Taering in season 2 there's multiple times she can swear based off your choices and i'm pretty sure on the bridge scene with Luke she swears on her own, but season 3 is just every other word it seems sometimes lol
+Daemon Blackfyre Some of my homie betrayed me, even though i loved them, Lee was from da hood too, we used to share a few drinks with my brother Sweet as well.
I understood when she ran away in Season 1 but in this season, She forgot everything Lee thought her. I just finished downloading this game. Going to play it :P
Also, Lee's teachings all depend on how you played as Lee. If Lee was an asshole, Clementine will learn off of that. Even if you make Lee a good guy, Clementine will still end up the same because of all the things she's been through.
Guys , we cant blame Clem for her behavior . Lee and Kenny taught her to survive between walkers , her lonelyness and will to survive taught her to survive between cruel people , and it took its cost ar her (im also pretty sure shes acting like it because she dont trust Javier , yet . Notice she is always nice when talking about personal things , while shes a bitc- sorry , bad to everyone she dont trust )
It's really interesting how many people wouldn't betray her because of the time in season 1 and 2, but what if she's doing something unforgivable to Javi, like, killing Gabe. (It's just an example, I don't think this will happen) We have to remember: We are a character who doesn't know ANYTHING about this girl. Javier doesn't have an emotinal bond with her as she had one with Kenny or Lee (Not yet) ,she's just an stranger for Javier, the main character in this season. I don't really count the flashbacks from Clem's point of view, because they are like 5 minutes long, where you can't even look around the area. (But heeeey, it's just a great game, so we can do everything we want to do :D) (By the way: Sorry for some spelling mistakes, English isn't my first language :/ But I hope you understand what I meant.)
Sonja Falkoun I decided from the start that I'll firstly do a Clementine peasant route and do everything Clementine says and protect her at all costs. The second playthough will be more moderate or the exact opposite.
melvinman11 That's exactly what I meant! Also: We didn't play her in those 2 years (I think it was 2) where she went with Jane, Kenny or alone (AJ) through the game. Javier could get in real trouble because of her rash act. (Where she shot the guy and thought, Javier would lie for her. And if you did that, you both get into this little 'prison' for the day. Other characters in this game wouldn't trust Javier anymore, if he's always lying for Clementine.) She isn't the eleven year old girl we played back in season 2 and we can't control her actions anymore.
melvinman11 Haha, that's right. :D I think the last episode is going to be reeeaaaaallly mean. Like, sacrifice Clementine or Kate. (To be honest, I don't even like Kate. She seems kinda irresponsible for my taste xD) I think everyone would sacrifice Kate, because we, as the player, don't know much about her, but as Javier... It's so complicated xD
melvinman11 And Kate clearly said, she would like to drive with Javier somewhere and if you tell David about that, she's lying to save her ass and he believes her. A really jerky move. Yeah, I doubt it too, but there is going to be a really hard choice, I can feel it :D We don't know what it is, but it's going to be BIG! x3
It is kind of funny to see that almost everyone thinks that Lee would go after Javi for this, but Clementine is being way too reckless. So as one of the comments bellow said -> "Lee wouldn't approve clem's behavior." :from Xeno Gaming. (Yes, she has been through alot. Still does not justify her actions, and it still goes against what Lee wanted.)
As much as i love clem the first choice was reasonable because your being honest but the second one is fucked up. Especially after she told Javi that she was at their camp unwillingly. Did he just forget everything??
It doesn't have to matter. Javier doesn't have to be friends with Clementine. Ignoring that, Gabe is at gunpoint, Clementine lied, and shooting Conrad is a bit overboard considering that his plan actually works somewhat.
Even without outing clem they still get into the camp. Why would you trust the guy whos holding a gun to your nepfew's head. Clem didnt lie she straight up told Javi that she was in their camp unwillingly. Yeah he doesnt have to be nice to her but its fucked up after she did save his life and rescue his family.
Remember "The New Frontier" killed Mariah then a few moments later Clementine tells Javi that she was one of them..At this point If I was Javi would honestly betray her after all the trouble she caused... This is basically Season 1 all over again with Ben secretly giving the supplies to the bandits...
Look, I cared for Clementine in season 1 and 2, but this season isn't about her. It's about Javi (for the most part it seems), and he cares for his family first and foremost. It honestly doesn't bring me too much pain to sell Clementine out. Maybe I just don't get attached to characters easily.
That is not betraying Clementine. Javier just met her and she already caused a lot of trouble. It is right thing to not accept her shit. Season 3 Clementine deserves it.
I actually agree with the "first betrayal" because you are just telling the truth. But not with the second one, pointing a gun at a freaking kid wtf, go to hell Conrad.
Honestly I did another play through to see what happens through the whole game after betraying her even tho it was hard at first but turns out it is probably the best choice. After a while it easy to gain Clementines trust back and Conrad actually turns out to be a really good person and also stays alive at the end of the game too. I highly recommend playing the game again to betray Clementine to keep Conrad alive.
They worded the questions in such a way to make it seem similar from my perspective. Of course I would side with Clementine though. I felt the pain go through me when Javier said she's a liar. Its like decisions that hurt Clementine physically hurt me.
To us, clem is like family. We’ve known her for about 5 years, (when she was 8) but think about Javi. He barely knows this girl, she hasn’t even been with him a week. The most realistic option would probably to betray clem, although I love her to bits. Javi is the main character here, we are just controlling him
I don't see this as betrayal, Clem isn't the same anymore, she killed a man, and was part of a group that killed all the people in Prescott and Wellington. People are letting the nostalgia of season 1 make them trust a cold blooded killer
Ax Ismael "part of a group that killed all the people in Prescott". Firstly SHE didn't do any of that killing and Secondly when she joined they were not a bad group
BIAS. Clem ACCIDENTALLY shot a man who purposely sold her faulty bullets.. in a fucking ZOMBIE APOCOLYPSE! Sorry, but even if she did kill him on purpose, it was well fucking deserved! But that said, she obvilusly DIDN'T. She joined a group she THOUGHT was good, but turned out not to be. How is she different again?
Man, coming back to this Season years later, and if these were just slightly altered in their tone, they're really not betrayals. Javi is genuinely telling the truth of what happened with Clem and Eli, heck if anything had he also just sprinkled in that he got cut by Eli then it really does look like true self defense and an accident, even if out of anger, it may be inconvenient for Clem, but no one is gonna really hold it against her forever. Conrad's plan is genuinely not a bad one either, he just really didn't need to be threatening anyone over it, if it were possible to negotiate the idea and have Clementine's approval behind it, either of these can very easily end up just being sketchy situations at best.
Honestly, I feel like going along with conrad is better. Because then no one dies in the tunnel. Even if Conrad is locked onto clem, and clem hates you, and gabe hates you, it's all G in the end. Because I doubt his brother will kill them. And then they can just be like "It was part of the plan Clem" Then no one is dead!
if you want to save a certain character at the end of the game it's best to have Clem's full support that she will go with you no matter what you pick, betraying her will make her do the opposite of what you will pick.
No clem's support just changes her dialogue when you speak to her, her decision at the end of season 3 is made through your decisions playing as clementine in flashbacks (accept/refuse offer to join, inject aj/obey, spit on david/say goodbye), these decisions make up her character traits, if she accepts offer and injects aj she will be loyal and go with you no matter what you pick and if its anything else she saves a different character
Clementine is so reasonable and try her best to be nice to him despite you betraying her, in the end, she asked Javier to cut her hair which is something only she did with Lee.
From JAvi's point of view....him "betraying her" in the beginning can make some sense. She WAS out of line in the beginning, killing that guy no matter how much of a scumbag he was.
Too early to betray clementine, I'll only do it when it's necessary, I love Clementine and Javier team so I'm not gonna break that, but whatever, choices barely change things
I don't dislike her. I just don't like how she lost her common sense. She could have stop pointing her gun at that man considering she just proved that the bullets don't work, therefore the gun would not threaten him. She could have said nothing to Javier about being with the New Frontier and left without Conrad knowing. This new Clementine is not the one I raised in season 2 because I raised her to be smart and to be independent and responsible.
I would betray her in a heartbeat. Unlike Lee, I wouldn’t have raised her since the age of 8 so I don’t really owe her anything nor would I even like her in the first place.
Yeah I'm afraid that Javier might die. Hopefully he doesn't though and maybe we get to have him and Clem go through some more shit together in another season, I like him. I'd rather play as Clem though...
Than it will be the end of telltale walking dead series. But if she is going to die I hope she will die for AJ or something like that. Aka like Lee died for her.
Joshua Beloy fun fact. one of the producers in TallTelle ( sorry idk how to spell their company ) Said that season 5 was heartbreaking when they played so...... :( idk but I hope they don't mean Clem. and if they do, we better see a heaven scene where shes with Lee and Kenny now
