Doug Gottlieb - Any Reason to Doubt Jim Harbaugh to LA Chargers? 

Maybe Justin Herbert isn’t good enough is probably the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard

This is not a risk. We just spent three years in literal football hell with what i believe is a top two or three worse coach in NFL history in Brandon Staley. Staley completely blew up this team in three short years so this is a home run.

I believe Harbaugh went 9-1 with Alex Smith and the 49ers in his first season. I got the Chargers 11+ wins next year. He was in college for a while, so im sure he has alot of knowlegde on players in college and will kill in the draft.

Harbaugh has proven sustained success by approaching the game from a big picture standpoint. Herbert is going to throw more bombs than ever. He’s been really great, while still not being fully understood. That’s why no one can say anything bad.

Hell yes, First, he is a retread and has already proven what kind of person he is. Second, he is old school and their is a huge difference in hollaring at college kids and hollaring at kids making more money than you. Third, just ask Jed York how he felt about him. Fourth, no one is mentioning the real reason for his suspension by the NCAA. Fifth, he is weird and a, not as bad version of AB. Lots of red flags even though he has won every where he's been.

It's the safest hire I have ever seen.

Regarding hyped coaches that didn't work, Scott Frost to Nebraska is the one that comes to mind. We all hoped and prayed he would work out, but unfortunately he was a coaching bust. Heck even the great Tom O threw his support behind Frost, just a huge disappointment unfortunately

I've been a Charger fan for a long time this happens everytime we sign somebody who has potential. "Were going to the Super Bowl!" that's yet to be seen. We jinx ourselves even before the season begins. It's a good hire but the expectations are too high.

Just started listening and I already feel like Doug is going to clown himself. There's no risk if your track record shows that you've won everywhere

My team has not had a bad hire in 55 years.

It’s crazy to think that 2 games realistically cost Brandon Staley his job and both were entirely his fault… the Raiders game in week 17 in his first season where he was going for it on 4th down almost every time in the second half and then they lost in the last second…. And the playoff game against the jaguars … if Staley wins those 2 games he’s MOST LIKELY the head coach RIGHT NOW… that is super crazy to think about because as bad as this season was the chargers would’ve likely gave him a pass because he made the playoffs in back to back years and won a playoff game

The QB seems to never face pressure or scrutiny, okay bro you’re on your 3rd coach in 5 years it’s can’t just be the coaching.

He can now cheat in the NFL.
