hearing him talk about sound is what i’ve tried to tell my friends about for so long when it comes to different theater formats. most of them will just go and see a movie in standard format when we have an amazing dolby cinema right around the corner. that extra bass is what takes a movie over the edge, especially a movie like top gun maverick

I only watch movies in Dolby Cinema. I have my own little theater with Arendal 1723s THX monitors and 2 PB 3000s and 4 SVS ceiling speakers with emotiva Xmc-2 processor. I have DR3s for my AMPS. My space is only 13-14ft and it PUMPS

Now that's a massive home cinema! I like the bare wood joists on the walls and ceiling, it's different from the norm. Ive got a good pal who's half Filipino, he tells me it's always packed full of people family and friends when he visits the Philippines. Can imagine the Filipino home cinema gets easily filled most times. Unlike the UK, USA where most peoples family and kids would rather do their own thing on mobile phones, video games etc.

Amazing theater! Only thing I would change, which was mentioned in the video, is building a false wall and putting the front stage speakers behind an acoustically transparent screen, and removing the front row of seats. It would be purrrrrrrrfect!

There is a great interview with The CTO of Netflix where he was talking about compression. He said compressing video is easy and you can compress it a lot. When you compress audio it very quickly becomes noticeable.

Youthman may start collecting after seeing that awesome collection! About 4 years ago I was looking for ideas on things to decorate my home theater and saw a youtube video where a guy had a terminator head and that was the start of the collecting rabbit hole I fell into. I dont have as many as Doug, but I definitely understand his addiction I am familiar with every single one he has in there and have some of the same ones in my man cave. Those bust that Queen Studios and Infinity Studios make are very realistic and well done but as the saying goes you get what you pay for and you will be paying a lot for this quality

bass is one of the main reasons i love dolby cinema so much. it’s that visceral feeling that turns the movie into a physical experience. they have 4 massive ceiling mounted subwoofers that make your seat shake during an action scene.

I also agree when subs are tune below 20hz you are at a different level...i calibrated mine to 10hz,they are over 1yr old and sometimes I'm terrified of my house shaving,like my kitchen dishes, mirrors,etc.but yes great video and hometheater..thks

I've enjoyed Doug's room tour in previous videos. However, his passion and energy for home theatre love is best conveyed in Youthman's format. Well done, Michael! In watching many room tours, I can understand how people work and save for what they eventually build, albeit with expensive equipment purchases over time. Doug's room takes it to another level. I can only imagine he is blessed with a great career and I'm glad to see that his positivity has not dwindled with his success. Glad for his family and that he enjoys the hobby just as much as when he first started! Like a kid at heart 💓

Great channel, I have a question please I have Yamaha RXV683 and I just added Emotiva A1 top firing atmos and receiver is set to 5.1.2 but I have noticed there is very little to no audio is coming from atmos speakers with atmos movies as well and I have disconnected all the speakers except the atmos and made sure there’s no audio or very little audio,

Wayne was smiling huge during the demo you can tell he loves what he does for a living. I remember those vibes you get when you sit down & demo the finished job w/ the perfect track or movie scene! There's a quote "Idle Mind Is the Devil's Workshop"...rings true when the pandemic hit. Lot's of people stuck at home with nothing to do. I too ended up upgrading my HT during the pandemic 😂😂. I also have since tried my best NOT to look at HT reviews so as not to get tempted on the upgrade bug.

Great video again! I’ve chatted with you before a few times. Again, as I mentioned before, when I am able to start my home theater build I’ll let you know. When it’s completed I’d be happy to have you come out here to the Philippines on my dime, for you to experience it! I’ve been in contact already with Oto Ryu Cinema Designs, on my preliminary speaker selection. They assured me that they would be able to deliver on my request. They are the ones who will be designing, my home theater. They will have a clean slate to start, as I will be having a new home being built from the ground up. Our home will be built to showcase entertainment for ourselves and others. Home theater, indoor pool, billiards, arcades, dining, rooftop gardens, spa, and much more. Your video of Dougs home theater was awesome! He really has an outstanding design, and just looking at all your smiles, when looking around and listening to it, gives me the assurance that it was done perfect. Just so this Homeowner knows, all MadVR is, is a HTPC with an ASROCK motherboard, AVer media card for input, and a 2080ti for output. You can build your own for half the price plus get a better updated video Card.

If you want to build a custom PC, add the basic MadVR software, and figure out how to set everything up, you can certainly do that. Just keep in mind It’s a limited version. The envy is designed to be plug and play, turnkey solution with an easy to use UI.

@@Youthman There are ways around the software limitations, I just do not find my time it takes to set up and figure it out being equal to $8K. For what the Envy is, it's extraordinarily overpriced.
