Expression might have been similar but he was a strong willed man who a son who kept giving him issues and coming to live with him via here he is semi dependent on his daughter and son in law and lives in their basement like their son and gets taken on walks by a sitter. A little different. He spoke of it too. That his character although tries to be independent is dependent on his kid and the relationship of them all trying to get at each other. :)

@@malovina"Strong-willed"? Frank was a nutcase lol He's half of the reason why George is so messed up. Arthur is indeed a character that resembles the elderly: he's not trying to intentionally annoy Doug, he wants company... he's the strong-willed one that can be stubborn most of the time.

*Not underrated,* snubbed by critics. Everybody remembers or have the curiosity to watch the show to this day but it was never a critic's darling, that's why is not celebrated like other sitcoms. Beloved sitcom, regardless, not underrated.

The series worked because she was the aggressive high strung person in the relationship and his reaction to it. Tons of episodes about her restricting him on what to eat, where not to do business because she hates them and telling him and his friends to play poker in the garage.
