There are more people like him today; one of them is Ben Shapiro. But I understand what you mean. Today, there are people who would use violence if anyone disagreed with them. But Mr. Murray is a strong person. He is not the type of person who says what people want him to say just so he can keep his job or lets fear stops him from expressing his views. Unfortunately, the authorities in every country in the West today allow violence from people (from the “religion of peace” for an example) just not to offend them.

My abiding understanding of Murray gained over many years is not to be right but to continually travel the world and visit all sides in arenas of conflict and war to try and understand actual cause and effect, often engaging with closed minds to explore for a mutually agreed realities that could bring about change, reconciliation and peace. His attempts to explain the facts of an issue with refreshing candour speak for themselves. This is an anathema for those fixed by dogmatic attitudes wishing to perpetuate resentful differences rather than healing similarities. Kind regards Tim
True and the important thing is not to hate back….as that harms us. We need to find the way not to hold onto anger, resentment etc as it doesn’t help, however justified we feel. Peace 🤍
He is a friend to all decent human beings with courage. He is a friend to civilized human beings with moral compass. It just so happens to be that those are the main qualities of the people and the State of Israel.

Douglas Murray is the most spectacular Orator of our time , this recording is shocking , there are better recordings available of speeches from a hundred years ago, quite how this poor quality seemingly slipped through the net amazes me .
A man of integrity & courage who delivers his words with such intellect and charm. Once he starts to speak I find it impossible to turn away. Surely one of the greatest advocates for a righteous world in these increasingly unstable times that is being dominated by the very loud & the very ignorant.

We are witnessing the controlled dismantling of the West. Most of us are looking on, mouths open, helpless. I think I speak for many of us when I say that Douglas is our voice. He has the poise, intellect and public recognition and strength to speak truth to power and if we have to fight to defend our way of life, then that is what we must do.
I find myself thinking, as an 83 year old lady, that I would fight for what Douglas Murray espouses. There are millions of us. Maybe not as old as I, but don’t count us out when seeing those who would destroy the goodness of the West.
Congratulations to all the graduates, and bravo to them for giving Douglas Murray so attentive a hearing. Whether one agrees with him or not, there's no doubt that he has all the curiosity about and gratitude towards the world that he was recommending there.

Yes soooo important to let go of resentment as it so often spans generations…in the Middle East and and so many other conflicts. It’s the minority, in such situations, who go against the majority and let go of resentment from the past and undoing so let go of so much burden and suffering.
Given his views I am shocked that a university is allowing him to make a commencement speech. I mean I’m a major and massive Douglas Murray fan myself, but is there something I don’t know about Columbia University?? Are they not a typical liberal university?? Is there something different about them??
