Hal Smith's San Francisco Jazz All-Stars, an enthusiastic homage to Turk Murphy and his world, made quite a splash at the 2024 Scott Joplin International Ragtime Festival, earning standing ovations at the end of each of their three sets. For this festival, the band was T.J. Muller, cornet; Tom Bartlett, trombone, vocal; John Ottio, clarinet; Brian Holland, piano; John Gill, banjo, vocal; Dan Anderson, tuba; Hal, drums.
