This is an updated look at how to download all your photos from iCloud to your Windows computer. This new way of downloading iCloud will allow you to download all of your photos at ones easily.

*When i click on "Download photos and videos" I have an empty box saying "There are none photos or videos". But in my iphone is over 5k photos. So what now?*
Whilst I was looking and hoping for a more in-depth look at iCloud for Windows, I still appreciate the video and give it a thumbs up. It definitely appears to have helped others out quite a lot a well. Windows is an alien OS and seems to avoid intuitive and natural ways to do some common tasks. As such, any tutelage is appreciated.
After downloading the photos, the folder says "There are none photos or videos", but eventually, after a 5 mins it starts to download all of my photos. Thanks to your video, it helps alot!

seriously thank you very much! this was a pain task to figure out the 'HOW' but in the end the 'HOW' was pretty easy. they seriously need to make it user-friendly to do. I didn't like how I needed to download some app to get this done instead of just select all and download into wherever I want to. THANKS DIY!
THANK YOU!!! my iPhone wouldn't accept an update, has now said I need to restore back to factory settings. I was afraid I would lose all my photos! Still not 100% sure I understand iCloud. Anyway...this video is so helpful. Photos being saved to pc now and then I will restore phone!

Very helpful. One extra bit of advice... My family shares iCloud storage (200G) for our devices. It took me a while to realize that even though our photos are all stored 'together', I can't access all photos at once from my PC. I needed to log in to iCloud on the PC separately with each individual's Apple ID to see & download their specific photos.
Thank you! I was really struggling to get my pictures on my PC from iCloud. I followed the directions (had to wait quite a while for picture to prepare) and now have my photos on my local drive!

Very helpfull video it saved me a lot of time and efforts i lost some time to play with the settings in the i cloud but finally it appeared as the discriptions on the video:)

Great! Thanks a lot. Once I saw where the Download photos and video option was it solved me frustration. Apple should ask whether to DL everything/some things after setup. Thanks again.
When I open iCloud photos, there is no link at the top for "download photos and videos". The only options listed are to "upload photos" and "new shared album". Is there a setting I need to adjust in order to prompt the downloading tab?
In the icloud for windows program, change the photos download location to your C: drive. I was trying to download to an external drive and had the same problem you did.
“Download photos and videos” does appear after I also downloaded an iCloud Chrome extension on my PC running on Windows 8. Even though I do see the download feature, when click to download it says preparing library. It’s going on many hours. My search on the web, shows that it’s happening to so many users. I’m convinced Apple intentionally makes it virtually impossible for us to copy or remove photos in bulk so users are forced to buy more storage.
Open the windows iCloud program. Click options next to photos. Check following boxes: "iPhone photo library" and "download new photos and videos to my pc". Now you will see the download option!!
Top banana. Thanks a bunch! Brilliant. I didn't get the download button in explorer like Angie Stephens at first, until I ticked the icloud drive button above the photo's option on icloud. Don't know if that was it for sure, but it works now. cheers.
bro your fucking amazing i went to select all of them on iclouds website and kept miss clicking and having to start over after 5 times i got too aggravated to do it again.....you just saved me the stress of doing it another 50 times xD thumbs up
Thank you so much. Before watching your video, I downloaded the photos from icloud.com to my PC. However, the downloaded photos did not have the Date Created in the Properties. Your method retains the date.
Hey there, When i click "Download Photos and Videos" and then select a folder from the Window iCloud app, the folder gets created, but no pictures get transferred in. I'm trying with a very small folder (2 photos). Any ideas? I have 10,000 photos and videos to transfer!

I tryed for 2 icloud accounts and it works, but for my husband wich has more pictures it does not work :( it sais the library is being prepared ....and it is like that since a long time ago, now for one day , but before he was loged in icloud for a long time and when i tryed today it said the library is not prepared. do you have any tipp? what if i do start download photos and downloading starts and after a while i re-started windows then should i re-select download all photos? caz after restarting PC downloading didn't begin.. pl suggest..
Hi there, in icloud photos when i click on "Download photos & Videos" it does not give me the option to choose all photos to down load it just opens the photo library and it only allows me to down load one photo or vid at time ..! and not possible to even download an album ..!
when I try to click apply after logging in it tells me that multipe versions of outlook are in use and to use icloud with outlook I need to uninstall one version, how do I do this? Thanks
HELP! My library has been preparing for more than 12 hours now and I still can't download a single hecking photo. ! have 2,007 photos/videos in total. Do I have to still wait this out or is there actually a problem? I need to know because I don't want to wait blindly.
I would say if there was a problem or bug then the download would not have started. As long as you are seeing some photos appearing then I would guess all is well.

is there also a way to transfer FILES from iCloud to a PC? i've got some Fallout Shelter save's that i can't get to atm because they are only left on my iCloud storage. could you (or someone else) help me, please?
