I carry mine every time I fly anywhere. I sleep on the airplane with it, I've used it to bed down my kids if we were delayed, now I do it with my grandkids. I rarely travel without one. Top advice as always sir. Thank you.

It is my understanding that when you run a double fly like you mentioned, it is best to have 5 or 6 inches between the two layers. That is supposed to give you the best cooling action supposedly.

Great video, Military poncho prices now suck. I bought Army ponchos for our bug out bags and paid $20.-25.00 each(eBay). I was going to buy them for a few vehicle get home bags but the prices have skyrocketed up to $30.00+. The Chinese have took over and you can buy there inferior ponchos for around $11.00. I think I will stick with the .99c disposable ponchos for the get home bags. They are lighter anyways.

Seems good, but why not just make a small trench with a small fire in it (like a Zippo with the flame lit) & sit with both legs bent next to it to make walls & wrap the blanket around that (doubled or not)?

I have an army Cold Weather Field, Woodland Camouflage hooded jacket made by John Ownbey Company. I paid less than $20 for it. There's a row of buttons on the inside on both sides & 2 below the collar. Is there a liner or something that goes with the jacket? In the collar is a series of button holes and a couple of velcro strips around the hood zipper. What are those for? It's in really good shape and I cleaned up all the loose threads without getting too close to the material. What's the best way to waterproof the material?
