On this trip I got invited to go fish with Capt. Marvin with Inshore Mafia and man did we get into some fish. We started later in the morning with water temps in the high 60's and got into some nice Reds on topwaters and I hung some good fish on the Saucer Shad in a new color. Hope you enjoy the video and stay tuned for more to come. As always thank you for watching and I'll see you out there.

Nice. I've been a big fan of downsizing for the last couple years. Lots of good, smaller baits.

Yes sir it's made a difference when they are being picky on what they want. Also have turned my fishing trips into productive ones.

@@texaswadefisherman yep. Mirrolure mini dines, ball tail jrs. Captain Lanes ghost minnows, DSL burner shade, 6th sense juggle minnows....lots of choices. They can all save the day. I throw bfs stuff too. That's getting real small. It works great in the real skinny stuff or on glass flat days. Doesn't spook them so much.

That is all so very true. I love Capt. Lanes ghost minnow, that is such a durable bait in such a small profile. I've caught some nice fish on it. Haven't thrown much of the burner shade but something to consider...not that I need more lures lol. My buddy with STX Lures has this 4" saucer shad that has been doing pretty good for me so far. Really trying to put it through its paces and hang some solid fish on it.

How do you like that Rainshadow RX7 blank on your rod? As a builder, I'd suggest asking Jason to us a good NFC xray or Rod forge...a whole different level.

Man I've loved the Rainshadow blanks so far, it's made a difference when throwing lures and feeling the slightest of bites at times. Oh ok I'll get with him on that, thanks for the info brotha!

@@texaswadefisherman welcome. Can't go wrong with the classic RX6 or high end RX10 blanks from batson-rainshadow. NFC is the company Garry loomis started after he sold g. Loomis. The Xray line like the SJ703 (what the old ultramag was built on) or SB 682 are very light and super sensitive. Plus theyre USA made. Rod Forge (tfo) is another awesome blank. They opened up their factory here in Texas. So we now have top tier, Texas made blanks. The 6'6" Medium xtra fast is God's gift to waders. I mostly build on Rod forge stuff. Texas made rods with Texas made components for Texas fishermen.

Sweet that is awesome always great to support our state and I will definitely look into those blanks for sure. Been wanting to build another rod at some point and try out cork grips. Not sure if I want to do a 6'8" are not, I've been a fan of my 7' rods so far. What is your opinion on a 6'8"rod or 6'6''?
@ETuss713
@ETuss713 9 месяцев назад
@@texaswadefisherman I don't use anything over 6'8" anymore. My go to rod is a 6'3". That size has become very popular with Sarge, Laguna, El Salveja, and others having at least 1 offering that size. If you like 7', stick with it unless you just want to see what a shorter rod feels like. With today's blanks I don't think you lose much, if any, distance on casts going from 7' to 6'6". As long as you can be accurate, can handle landing the fish, and the rods balanced well, it only matters what you like.
@texaswadefisherman

Ok that's understandable for sure. I wouldn't be a posed to trying something different in the future. Thanks for the info brotha!
