Aesthetically, one of the ugliest looking downtowns in the country. No green spaces. No mixed use development. No public artwork. Outdated, Brutalist architecture from the 1960s and 70s. Completely blanched of style, culture and sophistication. Hey, at least Texas Tech is beautiful.
@M. Higgs I agree that Downtown does need a makeover. They've got developers working right now on the smaller things. All the telephone wires are finally being moved underground. Citizens Tower just got renovated, but the skyline does need new buildings, certainly to include a true signature tower. City leaders are also working on a new green space near the center of Downtown.
@ntxguy The city is working on some positive changes with their roads. New development is replacing some of the older development, particularly in the center of town. Believe me, we all want those changes now, but they're not all an overnight fix.
