Downtown Oak Cliff - Jefferson Blvd - Dallas, TX - 1971 (Silent) 

I was 11 my grandmother lived on 8th street walked up to stores on Jefferson St every Saturday to shop

I was 9 in 1971. Jefferson use to be a great place to walk around and shop! We always went to McCrory’s. They had a soda fountain and we always got chocolate shakes and a hamburger. Then went down to Sears to buy clothes and pick up anything ordered from the catalog. Eventually going down to the basement hitting the candy counter for some double dipped chocolate peanuts to eat on the way home. Fun times great memories.

This is so cool to see. Lots of memories from my childhood . Growing up it was and still is a Hispanic part of town. I still go down Jefferson at least once a week. Sunday nights are great too to see all the classic cars

Actually eye opening. We complain about gentrification but us Hispanics took over this once majority white area. Not to be negative just realizing our own hypocrisy
