DP/30: Locke, Steven Knight 

He is the writer and director of Locke, which has earned awards for the film and its near-solo star Tom Hardy. His film writing career kicked off with Dirty Pretty Things, for which he got an Oscar nomination. He's been busy ever since, with directors from Cronenberg to Zwick. He talked to David Poland about how he became a screenwriter and this year, a director.
